Thought we'd bring some excitement to the game but maybe not as intense as it ended up being. Whatever. Lets review this crazy game. It's really tough getting into the starting lineup these days since we have everyone healthy and playing really well. Superstar goalkeeper Pete Young was left on the bench for red-hot Michael Allard who deservedly started his second game in a row. Up front Jorgen partnered Scotty, leaving Nyarady sitting next to Zola.
Well, after countless hours of watching Beckham's freekicks I knew I was gonna score one. I hope Donny This saw that one since he is always talking shit. But it wasn't cool for long and they came straight back 1-1. Then same thing happended when Johan scored from a PK, 2-2. Again Johan's superb goal was cancelled out by a late late late Mexican goal. 6 seconds remaining when they scored 3-3. Think Lynch was pleased? Not really. We had to go to a golden goal OT.
Only a few minutes into the overtime, Caleb launched a rocket that their keeper couldn't hold on to. Steve came flying in, hammered the ball into the back of the net and celebrated his golden goal with a trademark Thierry Henry shirt throw. Think Lynch was pleased?
Man of the Match: No one will deny that Steven Nyaraday was the hero of the day but overall Johan's performance was sterling and they'll share the honor this time.
Play of the day:
1. Matt Johnson for shouting something about Becks.
2. Peter for a wicked shot in the second half.
3. The referee for telling Zola he didn't like us.
