Telephony and internet

Friland

Both Friland and Hiveria use the European emergency number 112. The telephone network and numbers are also almost identical: this is because both the Frilandic and the Hiverian network were reorganized in 1997 by the Irish engineer Gary O'Connell.

Telephony
Geographic numbers (for "fixed" phones) consist of the following:

  • The international code is 00.
  • The national code is 384.
  • The dialling code consists of 4 numbers, unique for every municipality. Large municipalities have multiple dialling codes.
  • The personal number consists of 6 numbers.

Mobile numbers (for cell phones) are built up in the same manner, with the difference that the dialling code doesn't refer to a municipality but to an operator. A number of dialling codes has been made available for this.

    Internet
Friland strives to have internet access for every citizen. For this the last couple of years connections are being made on a large scale. The most important Frilandic websites are Mulanbok.fl (social network), Snelsokan.fl (search engine), Bilaþsamnung.fl (video site), Natkwed.fl (chat site) and Wabmer.fl (E-mail provider).
The top level domain of Friland is .fl, requesting a Frilandic domain name can be done here: http://www.wabhaim.fl

    Hiveria

    Telephony
The national code of Hiveria is 383, for the rest the telephone numbers are built up in the same way as the Frilandic one.

    Internet
Since November 2007 it is no longer possible to visit foreign sites from Hiveria, internet users outside Hiveria are also no longer able to gain access to .hiv addresses (the top level domain of Hiveria). According to the government the Hiverian internet has been closed off from the outside world for "safety reasons". In Friland the Hiverian internet is therefore mockingly called "intranet", because it functions in almost the same way.
