![]() ![]() Intelligence agencyFriland The Frilandic intelligence agency is called MTA ("Merjan and Tulgiŝambaht"= Intelligence and Security Agency). The MTA has a domestic and a foreign service: the duty of the Domestic Service (Innanlandiska Ŝewanost) is identifying and shadowing individuals and organisations that pose a national threat and guarding the democracy. The Foreign Service (Utanlandiska Ŝewanost) is concerned with operations abroad, espionage, counterintelligence and defence against terror. The most important task of the MTA however, is keeping an eye on arch enemy Hiveria, which uses every opportunity to double-cross Friland. In 2001 the MTA was also in the news with the spectacular evacuation of three Frilandic relief workers from Afghanistan, two hours before the start of the American invasion. Since 2011 the MTA also commands a special cyber unit: "Ŝeudisk Wabskeld" (National Webshield). The National Webshield (ŜW) protects Friland against cyber attacks and consists of multiple computer teams that are involved with the security of websites and government networks, tracking down hackers, espionage and contra espionage via computer networks and cyberwarfare. Hiveria The Hiverian intelligence agency is called "Service de Connaissance" (Intelligence Agency), its most important task is gathering information about Friland and performing secret operations abroad. One of its main achievements is the capture of the perpetrators of the terror attacks in St. Gérard in 2005, who were arrested on the very same day. A subdivision of the Service de Connaissance is the Corps de Guerre Cybernétique (CGC), the "Division of Cyberwarfare", which was founded around the year 2010 and became known worldwide the year thereafter for launching a full-scale cyber attack on the Frilandic computer industry (Frireta) and several government networks. ![]() |
