Economy

Friland
The Frilandic economic system has both capitalist and corporatist characteristics, with a light tendency towards protectionism. It offers as much room for private initiative as possible but the interests of Frilandic businesses and labourers come first. Also, some companies that are of importance to the continuation of the state are nationalised or brought under government control by majority shareholding. Despite this many multinationals have found their way to the archipelago. Trade is mainly aimed at Ireland, Great Britain, the European mainland and North America.

These days the Frilandic guilds often play the role of a trade union.
