| Friends of Coyle Creek is currently undertaking a few projects for the coming months. Creek Cleaning Program The CC Program is the FCC's initiative to clean the creek of all the garbage scattered on the shore with the use of canoes and other small watercraft to minimize any possible damage to the environment. Adopt-A-Road Program The FCC has plans to adopt a section of South Pelham Rd. near Sparrow Lakes golf club, where the creek crosses the road. It will be our duty to clear this road of garbage that could pose a risk towards the creek. Tree Planting Petition The FCC has plans to develop a petition aimed at encouraging certain conservation agencies to plant more trees and shrubs on their properties, rebuilding the ecosystem around the areas. Tree Planting Program The FCC is currently investigating the possibility of working with private landowners to plant trees and shrubs in the creek's environment to help increase the quality of the creek and habitat for mammals that vacate the creek. Fundraising Program The FCC is seeking opportunities to reach out to the community by having fundraising campaigns to increase funds for programs and spreading the FCC name and initiative to the public. More information will be released on these projects once they have been planned and proposed by current FCC members at their next meeting. |
