A Day to Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs is located 60 miles south of Denver.  There are many things to see and do there besides what is presented here.  It is a great day but be sure you start early.
A good place for lunch is at the Meadow Muffins Saloon in Old Colorado City.  It is full of movie memoralia and the food is great.
The first stop is the Air Force Academy.
A must is a drive through Garden of the Gods.  To really experience its beauty, take the 30 minute sidewalk hike.
A stop at the trading post in the Garden of the Gods is a must.
Drive up Cheyenne Canyon and see the Helen Hunt Falls.
The view from the Cave of the Winds is breath taking but don't forget the tour of the cave.
Downtown Manitou Springs is a tourist dream.  It has souveneirs and crafts very unique to the area.  It is a must stop.
Take the west route back to Denver through Woodland Park and Pine.  Stop at the Bucksnort Saloon for dinner.  What a great day!
