This happened to me before,
When I lost my friend.
A person closest to my heart,

For my friends to look.

I always trusted you,

Shared my pain with you, always
On your shoulders I'd weep.

But I was wrong my friend,
I shouldn't have trusted you.
In you I found a selfish trait,
Which I could never view.

You trusted your newfound love.
Trusted everyone else around.
Never gave a thought 'bout me.
Your just left me astound.

Don't you realize my friend
Don't you see the truth.
How can I be that way?
Hcan you be so brute?

But now I am happy, my friend,
I have someone better in life
Whom I can truily call a friend
And who can show me light.

Show me the light through darkness
Love and affection and much more
And tender my heart with care
That mended my heart, so sore.

She has been an inspiration
One whom I can trust.
Who would so anything 
But never break my heart.

Unlike some others in my life
Who have just come and gone,
Never been able to show me light
No love have they shown.

She has left a mark in me.
A mark in my heart deep.
She has been a darling
I gave my heart to keep.

So be there my friend,
Be there for life
Don't ever hurt me my dear.
Show me the light.

Take me out of darkness
Take me to that new height.
Where friendship is above love
