Nyu Sketches (ok, I've reached an alltime low on title puns)
I like the shading, but there's something wrong with the pic itself
This is Chiyo-chan from the anime "Azumanga Daioh" I did this one completely on the computer, while I was just messin' around. The shading is really simple, but that's how the  artist draws her, so it's ok. (I used Paintshop Pro 7)
This one I like a lot (as you obviously know, this is where I got the new banner pic from.) This was my first experience with Adobe Photoshop. I have to say, I really like it. The shading is much better than anything else I'v ever done. Now, I'm not saying I like photoshop better, I just like it for different things. To me, Photoshop seems more artistic, and Paintshop seems more technical. Anywho, I like them both, and use them both.
With this one, I was going for a real shoujo style, and I think I nailed it. One thing about the pic itself, is that most people tend to glance, then think she's making some sort of immpossible twist, when if you sit and look at it for a while, you realize she's not really. Picture it as though she was walking to the right, and someone called out to her, so she twisted to meet them on the left around. (it's hard to see cause her shirt is covering where her torso is twisting.
This one I really love, not only because of the radiant and beutiful background, but also for my shading. (especially on her chinese dress.) In case you can't see very well, she supposed to be sitting on top of a waterfall, with her back towards the downsream where the water actually flows into the body of water in the background. (some people were confused with which way the water was flowing.) Anyway, this crummy little jpeg does not do the true picture justice, but aw well. (this one was also done in photoshop <with tons of help from Painshop Pro>)
