Prayer for Franciscan Vocations

Lord Jesus, You said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, theirs is the Kingdom of heaven."

We thank You for having chosen St. Francis to be truly poor in spirit, and for the example he left us of a truly poor man.

May his way of life inspire many more to forsake the riches of this world and become poor in spirit, so that, following Francis, they may inherit the Kingdom of heaven in union with him.

Prayer for Enlightenment

Most high

glorious God,

Enlighten the darkness of my heart

and give me, Lord,

a correct faith,

a certain hope,

a perfect charity,

sense and knowledge,

so that I may carry out

Your holy and true command.
