Family Readiness Group Weekly Update,
Cluster III Headquarters
Ft. Sam Houston, TX

10 September 2004

Thank you for the family support package; the cookies were delicious. The past few weeks have been business as usual. The weather has started to cool down a few degrees, and a few of San Antonio's outside entertainment parks are starting to close down for the season. Most of us have been enjoying the last few weekends at the parks. Our mission here is half way over, and all of us look forward to coming home. Until then we will continue to do our mission and keep our states safe from terrorist activities.

We will also do the best we can to keep ourselves entertained. Our flag football team is having a rough start going 0-1 the first week of the season. The final score of our first game was 19-26. The last play of the game we had the ball at their 20 yard line but an interception ended the game. The guys down here were also excited this week about the news of the Royals smoking the Tigers 26-5.

One soldier was involved in a traffic accident last week, he ended up rear ending another car on his way to a Risk Management course. During this course they had been learning about safe driving (ironic isn't it) but the soldier quickly found out. Since no one was hurt, it could have been comical since, but it is also alarming to see how easy an accident can occur. I challenge each and every one of you to be safe on the road. A couple of seconds can save you a lot of money and more importantly it could save your life (and that is priceless).

We also have a special request to ask of some of you at home. We would like to know how our area high schools are doing in football and softball. LTC Allison thinks this will be the year for California, MO. We all know that Worth County R-III is going to win it all in 8 man, except for SPC McGinness who thinks West Nodaway is finally going to play for a championship. Other teams of interest include Maryville, Savannah, Teams in Kansas City, Top 10 Missouri Schools in each class: 8 man, and 1-A to 6-A. If I can get a few of you at home to e-mail me the scores at [email protected] I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for all your love and support,

Cluster 3 HQ
