by Great Orion Voyager 2009 freyakorps It is time for American Socialism. Be an American Socialist. Dont wait for your nation. Revolucion in your own life. Break the chains of landlord and employer. Live life with principles. Be La Revolucion. American Socialism must replace Failed Capitalism. The Investor Class destroyed your nation and must be destroyed. There should be no Wall Street, no New York Stock Exchange, no DOW, no NASDAQ. Insatiable demand to maximize profit by any means necessary is devastating your community and collapsing your quality of life in a Global Rat Race to the Bottom. Capitalism Failed. Globalization Failed. Global corporations must be replaced by local community stewardship. All major institutions of our community should be nonprofit, owned by the public, funded by tax, managed by government workers and local community representatives. Profit must be kept for the local community. Think Local. Act Local. Neocons insist it is impossible to return labor and resources to local communities, due to inevitable dynamics of Free Market Capitalism: Multiplier Effect, Cost of Production and Cost of Labor favor global corporations exploiting cheapest labor across the planet. Global corporations can afford global marketing and distribution to a global market. Investors enjoy maximum return on investment by investing in global corporations. Adam Smith and Karl Marx documented an inevitable tendency for corporations to become monopolies that destroy competitors. Any attempt to prevent such monopoly, to regulate corporations or investors, is inherently unnatural and contrary to the laws of Social Darwinism. Free Market Capitalism leads directly to the Monopoly Death Stage when the market implodes and collapses, as workers and consumers are rendered underemployed desesperados in a Global Social Darwinist Rat Race to the Bottom. Free Market Capitalism turns any society into a Banana Republic in which the vast majority are rendered slaves forced to serve a tiny minority of tinpot dictators, CEOs and investors. Free Market Capitalism leads directly to Plantation Slavery. Karl Marx describes the Eternal Class War of Worker Class versus Property Class: Class War ultimately leads to Socialist Revolution, since forcing 90% of the population to serve as plantation slaves for the top 10% is inherently unnatural and unsustainable. If you work for a living, the Property Class is your Blood Enemy. These millionaires get rich by exploiting your labor and resources that should not profit anyone other than you and your community. Noam Chomsky describes Class War waged in corporate media today: Necessary Illusions flood media with Capitalist Myths to Manufacture Consent: News, TV, radio, films, even music and pop culture are flooded with corporate propaganda to justify Class War and the growing gap between rich and poor, to quote Che: the Inevitability of the Class System. Naomi Klein describes Class War as an aggressive neocon assault against the global commons in her 2007 masterpiece, THE SHOCK DOCTRINE: THE RISE OF DISASTER CAPITALISM: Neocons try to privatize the public commons to steal labor and resources that rightfully belong to the community. FRATBOYS STOLE YOUR NATION: Immoral insatiably greedy sociopaths are devolving your nation into a banana republic of criminal plutocracy and crony contractor corruption. Dumbing down of public schools and pop culture and news media is an attempt of the Property Class to control the public mind, to render workers illiterate clueless disempowered unquestioning voiceless slaves, barnyard animals able only to mumble clicks and grunts. Workers are superfluous and obsolete dinosaurs from the Industrial Revolution when muscle labor was needed on assembly lines and battlefields. Globalization and technology have rendered billions of people superfluous: Factory labor is outsourced to peasant slaves in China. Teleservices are outsourced to India. Domestic infrastructure is done by robots: Push-button automation for assembly lines, road construction, garbage pickup, dockyard freight loading. Workers are shuffling down sidewalks unemployed, wondering how they can contribute to an economy that so obviously has no use for them whatsoever: Now every worker expects to be downsized at any moment without notice for no reason. Globalization means we will keep getting fired every year, spending half our lives on unemployment checks. At best we are merely tolerated by global corporations for a few months until executives find cheaper labor overseas. Our work is superfluous, meaningless, a complete waste of time. Life is a sick joke to the Worker Class. Millionaire Fratboys get rich from Passive Income and hide in suburban McMansions guarded by private security patrols: Fratboys do no work, do not walk the sidewalk, do not ride the bus, do not send kids to public school, do not go grocery shopping. Every contact with the public is done by House Slaves who do all the work, raise the kids, shop for groceries, cut the lawn, police the property, clean the toilets. Suburban millionaires are isolated from the public like French Aristocrats in the 1780s: Class Isolation caused the French Revolution and 1790s Terror. Class Isolation will cause something similar in any nation which has no use whatsoever for the vast majority of its perpetually underemployed citizens. AMERICA IS NOW A CASINO ECONOMY: Winners win unearned fortunes as losers starve. None of this New Wealth is earned, but won through inherited trust funds, tenant rent, stock dividends, CEO pay, crony contractor corruption, insider trading, palimony settlements. Today anyone who works for a living is a Punk Chump Fool. Hard work brings no reward as workers stay dirt poor, while some Golddigger Whore gives a millionaire a blowjob and wins millions sitting by her pool forever. AMERICA IS NOW A NATION OF PRISON-BOUND TRAILER TRASH: Crap culture took over Pop Culture: Bling, sex, vice, pimps, hos, strip clubs, casinos, lotto tickets, crack, meth, outstanding warrants, parole violations. Rude, crude, vulgar, uncouth, antisocial Police State. Everyone born guilty violating parole. Is this America? Are these Americans? O yes indeed: American, all too American. These are not good people. This is not a good generation. America in this Neocon Dark Age is devoid of Grace, Integrity, Intellect, Wisdom. Americans are now just a race of greedy graceless gangsters good only for Nuclear World War III Cannon Fodder. Blow it all to hell. Gotterdammerung. Good Riddance. Public schools crank out illiterate prison-bound teens, tattooed gangbanger trash good for nothing but staring mindlessly at prison bars in overcrowded communal cells, locked out of the American Dream by American Apartheid. Their parents are brutal reminders of what awaits them in the workplace: Miserable single moms stuck in tedious slave jobs in windowless basement cubicles being yelled at by abusive female supervisors. No point doing good in school, no point avoiding drugs or gangs, no point staying healthy if you are fated to a lifetime of tedious wage slavery. Why bother working? Does hard work pay off? How many dishes do you have to wash, how many work orders must you complete, how many hours of cubicle slavery wins your 10,000 sq ft ten-bedroom mansion on your ten acre horse ranch on your own private road? W.E.B. Dubois, 1958 "The return from your work must be the satisfaction that work brings you and the world's need of that work. With this, life is heaven, or as close to heaven as you can get. Without this, with work you despise, which bores you, and which the world does not need, this life is hell." AMERICAN MYTH: America is the greatest nation on earth due to American Capitalists who transformed the continent from a savage wilderness. NONSENSE. North America is the greatest continent on earth because it was a Virgin Continent of Pristine Wilderness just two centuries ago, and capitalists have not been around long enough to exploit our land and resources to oblivion. North America was sparsely populated by American Indians who sustainably stewarded this Garden Continent for 12,000 years. NORTH AMERICA IS EDEN. Capitalists want to pave over our Garden Continent and devastate Eden. They would if they could, and they will if we let them. Steward this Garden Continent through Sustainable Lifestyle and Deep Ecology Conservation. Decrease American population from 330 million down to a sustainable level of 200 million. Prevent any kind of Global Investor or Foreign Real Estate Speculator from destroying our Once and Future Eden. AMERICAN MYTH: Hard work leads to wealth. I am rich because I work hard. You are poor because you are lazy. Your poverty is your own fault, so dont blame society. Millionaires get rich by working hard. The Property Class are a Natural Aristocracy, Alpha Males and Alpha Females born to rule over Worker Class Betas and Omegas. Since anyone can work hard to become a millionaire in this Land of Opportunity, the poor are lazy slobs. The rich work harder, are smarter, and lets face it, the rich are more handsome than the rest of the public. They deserve to be millionaires, and we deserve to serve them. NONSENSE. The Hard Work Myth is propaganda to maintain social hierarchy. Most millionaires won their unearned wealth through inherited trust funds, tenant rent, CEO pay, stock dividends, insider trading, crony contractor corruption, palimony settlements. Hard work does not bring any reward, as workers stay dirt poor. I have known millionaires and walked through their exclusive neighborhoods of 10,000 sq ft mansions, and found the owners of these mansions to be ugly, obese, illiterate, graceless gits of mediocre intellect and zero creativity, unfit, weak, frightened and paranoid of all challenges to their unearned wealth. American Nouveau Riche Petite Bourgeoisie Gits are a Graceless Joke. AMERICAN MYTH: American houses are owned by Americans to raise families. Mansions in exclusive neighborhoods are owned by American Millionaires who earned their wealth. NONSENSE. Foreign Real Estate Speculators now live in that house on the hill. They came here solely to get rich flipping houses and apartment buildings. Foreign Carpetbaggers buy all the affordable housing across California and the West Coast, entire apartment buildings, to flip for quick profit, raising rent, evicting tenants, rendering you homeless. Foreign Carpetbaggers do not deserve their unearned wealth. They sure as hell are not your Natural-Born Alpha Leaders. They are your Blood Enemy who will destroy your community and collapse your quality of life if you let them. AMERICAN MYTH: God exists. God INTENDS me to be rich and you to be poor, so accept my wealth and your poverty as intended by God. NONSENSE. The God Myth is propaganda to maintain social hierarchy. God is a metaphor and does not exist outside of imagination. Belief in God is an intelligence test: If you believe, you must have low intelligence. Nothing supernatural can exist because nothing can exist outside Nature. Religion is the Blood Enemy of Science. Religion stunts Intellect. Sigmund Freud concluded religion is neurosis. Those who believe in supernatural phenomena must be mentally ill. Carl Jung concluded religion is Patriarchal Tribalism. All religions are cults. Karl Marx says religion is an opiate for the masses. The Bible is for the illiterate, willfully ignorant masses who refuse the worldly wisdom of all other books of the world. AMERICAN MYTH: Millionaires are rich because they enjoy superior wisdom. NONSENSE. Most millionaires lack wisdom. University education can expand your mind into a world of intellect, scholarship and genius. But most university intellectuals are not millionaires. Many millionaires have virtually no education in sciences or humanities, read no books and are barely literate, willfully ignorant non-intellectuals who fear and loathe university scholars as intellectual elites. AMERICAN MYTH: The American Dream is still alive. America is the Land of Opportunity. Life in America is like some Hollywood romantic comedy where protagonists get rich without working, get married and move into a huge mansion to sip champagne by their pool and live happily ever after. THE END. Fade out, cue score, roll credits. NONSENSE. No American believes such nonsense. But Hollywood romantic comedies are exported throughout the world, and many tourists flock here to see the American Dream up close. I spent the past few years touring the planet and met many tourists. A dozen tourists, Asians, Indians, Australians, British, Scandinavians and Europeans, told me their American tour was a bit of a disappointment: Most Americans appear morbidly obese. Poverty, crime and urban blight are shocking. Real America is nothing like a Hollywood movie. Typical response: I was shocked by the obesity of Americans. They are incredibly fat and unfit. I was shocked by the amount of beggars, drunks and bums I saw in every American city. I saw hundreds of homeless people sleeping on sidewalks in New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, everywhere. I didnt feel safe walking through neighborhoods full of gangs, sidewalks littered with broken glass. Nothing like a Hollywood movie. Really shocking because we have almost no homeless folk or unemployed folk or gangs or broken glass on sidewalks in Copenhagen! YOU ARE SUPERFLUOUS: How does it feel to be one of the Superfluous People, now that you know who you are? All Americans are now superfluous. Our work is meaningless, obsolete, a complete waste of time. There is almost nothing we can do that cannot be outsourced overseas for half our living wage. Today no worker has any bargaining power short of violent revolution. The job market is a pyramid, supported on a great base of low-skill minimum wage jobs. Global outsourcing, union busting, high unemployment, stagnant wages, and a tidal wave of immigrants are destroying the job market at the base of the pyramid. We all belong to one community, and as it rots from the bottom, the whole community sickens. Every sector of the economy is now under tremendous downward pressure in a Global Social Darwinist Rat Race to the Bottom. America today suffers the Class War behavioral conditioning of England during the Georgian and Victorian Eras, when the Worker Class was dismissed as mindless muscle labor to be exploited to death on assembly lines and battlefields. Class War propaganda was relentless: An Idle Rich Landed Gentry factory owner named Jones would dismiss as genetically inferior his own cousin named Jones who lived as an East London Cockney worker, despite sharing the same blue eyes, blond hair and racial bloodline. Cockneys were steered into East London ghettos where there was nothing to do but drink gin. Parliament Lords gave long speeches declaring Cockneys Incorrigible Natural-Born Drunks, Thieves and Pickpockets who should be arrested, thrown into chains, and shipped across the planet to prisons in Australia. For the crime of being poor, tens of thousands were chained in dark lower decks of slave ships and sent to Australian prisons in tragic permanent exile. Talk about being disenfranchised! Class Apartheid was necessary so that Landed Gentry could exploit this Cockney Underclass in the factories of the Industrial Revolution. Upper Class Lords and Lower Class Proles could barely understand each other: Landed Gentry spoke with a strong Oxford or Cambridge Upper Class Affect. Cockneys spoke in a bizarre rhyming slang developed in East London ghettos, in a barely articulate mix of Irish, Welsh and North England accents. East London Cockneys were like American Ghetto Negroes and Latinos, complete with their own Hip-Hop Ebonics and Chicano Gangbanger Slang. In the 1848 Rebellions, Karl Marx and Mikail Bakunin dashed across Europe giving speeches and inspiring riots in Germany, France, Switzerland, always just one step ahead of police who would have hanged them. By 1849 Bakunin was on the run from Russian police and Marx was hiding in London as a wanted political refugee. Karl Marx chose Cockney East London as his final refuge, convinced Londons Class Apartheid would surely cause Communist Revolution to sweep England. When Marx wrote his masterpiece DAS KAPITAL in 1867, he intended it as a blueprint for revolution in England and Western Europe. He would have been shocked to learn that the most fertile grounds for Marxist Revolution turned out to be the Russian countryside, as an Agrarian Rebellion against the Czar. DAS KAPITAL was a brilliant history and criticism of English capitalism, from the Elizabethan Era Enclosure of the Commons, to the Industrial Revolution that filled London with choking black soot, filthy poisoned rivers, and entire generations of kids forced to be assembly line slaves. Great way to perpetuate Class War: Demand that all tolerable career jobs require a Masters Degree. Make a Masters Degree so expensive that only the Property Class can afford it. Make sure an affordable Community College Associates Degree yields nothing but slavery. In Social Democratic nations like Sweden and Britain, a university degree is almost free: Sweden even offers a generous cost of living grant students can live on so they dont have to work while attending school. Social Democrats understand that expensive private college tuition does nothing but disenfranchise the majority, rendering them uneducated desesperado slaves. America today is Plutocracy masquerading as Meritocracy: High wage careers are bought regardless of academic achievement. This means a genius may be chained to a fast food job for life, unable to afford graduate tuition, while an illiterate dimwit git can buy a Yale University MBA and wind up President of the United States. Clearly the system is broken. Noam Chomsky calls corporations, Private Tyrannies. Small Business Owners are also private tyrannies. As Marx documented, the Petite Bourgeoisie Nouveau Riche are the worst employers, greedy, abusive, disrespectful and petty. As Idle Rich Aristocrats, Prince Charles and Prince William can afford to be polite, respectful, generous and dedicated to ecology stewardship. But the Petite Bourgeoisie Middle Class dont bother trying to be polite, respectful or generous. Trailer trash crackers get rich by exploiting surplus value of employees they disrespect and terrorize like Plantation Slaves. As a project specialist contractor I worked in a dozen large corporations and a dozen small companies run by petty tinpot dictators. Trailer trash crackers may employ only a dozen workers, but they constantly disrespect and terrorize them. American Petite Bourgeoisie Nouveau Riche Crackers assume Divine Right to disrespect workers. They feel entitled to Arrogant Hubris simply because they inherited capital. Money is power, as they see it, so those with less money must have less power, therefore deserve disrespect. The Myth of the American Dream has indoctrinated Petite Bourgeoisie Nouveau Riche Crackers to assume all rich must be virtuous and all poor must be lazy. Dozens of times I have seen coworkers disrespected by Petite Bourgeoisie Crackers who shriek, curse, threaten and insult in unrestrained temper tantrums. When this happens, I always stand up and quit, and invite everyone else to join me. I have destroyed companies. Cracker is always so shocked, since she or he never considered the possibility that such disrespect should never be tolerated. I explain: Listen you stupid bitch, your inherited capital does not entitle you to disrespect anyone. Capital is not power. Money is not power. Money is nothing! Cracker falls to the floor in a trembling fit and her brain explodes, being unable to process the concept that money is nothing. Money does not imply Wisdom, Virtue, Authority, Credibility or Competence. My coworkers possess more credibility and competence than the trailer trash crackers who disrespect them. American Petite Bourgeoisie Nouveau Riche Crackers are greedy, arrogant, petty sociopaths. Their luxury SUVs, 10,000 sq ft suburban McMansions, obese kids who hate them, divorce lawyers and yachts and world cruises and diamonds and bling are all symptoms of Profound Neurosis. They do not deserve their unearned wealth. American Petite Bourgeoisie Nouveau Riche Crackers are a sick joke. The Property Class destroyed our nation and deserve nothing but disrespect. Their undeserved arrogant hubris will no longer be tolerated. Their undeserved power and illegitimate authority is an illusion. Millionaire executives have no authority or credibility. These Vampire Parasites do not deserve their unearned wealth. They deserve to be guillotined. DISRESPECT MILLIONAIRES: Should you respect a criminal for getting away with crime? Scientists, doctors, engineers, professors, scholars deserve respect. But vampires deserve only contempt. Why are you working terrible jobs just to enrich millionaires who sit in mansions and do no work? Why are you working overtime to give millionaires idle time? BREAK THE CHAINS OF LANDLORD AND EMPLOYER: NO ONE SHOULD MAKE A FORTUNE WITHOUT WORKING FOR IT. END PASSIVE INCOME: Millionaires sit back and watch millions roll into their accounts, from inherited trust funds, tenant rent, stock dividends, CEO pay. Majority of the public work very hard and are dirt poor, with no assets, no stock portfolio. Your nation polarized into a millionaire passive income minority and a majority of wretched overworked slaves. Millionaires do no work, get rich from Passive Income, and have the nerve to arrogantly boast: I DONT WORK! I OWN! The American Dream was supposed to reward hard work with ownership. Today workers slave forever without saving enough to buy property, while fratboys inherit real estate. Millionaire parents hand trust funds to fratboys as graduation gifts. Millions are Trust Fund Vampires. Real estate is a huge part of these trust funds: Fratboys and sorority sisters become your landlords. BREAK THE CHAINS OF LANDLORD AND EMPLOYER: NO ONE SHOULD MAKE A FORTUNE WITHOUT WORKING FOR IT. Capitalism Failed: This is France in the 1780s. Revolucion is inevitable. Ten Worker Class families can comfortably live in each Property Class mansion. Word to Arrogant Fratboy in yo sprawling mansion on yo ten acre horse ranch with yo luxury SUV and yo trophy blonde: Yall didnt earn yo wealth. Yo fortune is illegitimate. We be comin fer yall. Yo house be our house. SU CASA MI CASA. Imagine Jeffersonian Democracy: Imagine a nation of landowners, farmers who grow their own food, educated empowered decision-makers who do not report to any boss. IMAGINE FREE, STRONG, EDUCATED, LITERATE, EMPOWERED CITIZENS, STRONG FAMILIES WORKING OUT OF SELF-INTEREST TO FORGE HEALTHY SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY. Imagine. Howard Zinn, Lecture at Binghamton University, NY, Nov 8 2008 "Newspapers this morning report highest unemployment in decades. The government needs to create jobs. Private enterprise is not going to create jobs. Private enterprise fails, the so-called free market system fails again and again. When the Depression hit in the 1930s, Roosevelt and the New Deal created jobs for millions of people. And there were people out there on the fringe who yelled, Socialism! Didnt matter. People needed it.... There is the interest of Exxon and Halliburton, and theres the interest of the worker, the nurses aide, the teacher, the factory worker. Those are different interests.... No, the government is not looking out for your interest.... Governments do not represent the interests of their people. See? Thats why governments keep getting overthrown.... That's why governments lie. If they told the truth, they would be out of office.... If you look at history, you see people felt powerless until they organized, and they got together, and they persisted, and they didnt give up, and they built social movements. Whether it was the anti-slavery movement or the black movement of the 1960s or the antiwar movement in Vietnam or the womens movement, they started small and apparently helpless; they became powerful.... Were not powerless. We just have to be persistent.... If you join some group, it will make you feel better.... Life becomes more interesting and rewarding when you become involved with other people in some great social cause." Noam Chomsky, THE PROSPEROUS FEW AND THE RESTLESS MANY, 1994 "There are two important consequences of Globalization: First, it extends the Third World Model to Industrialized Nations. In the Third World there is a two-tiered society: a sector of extreme wealth and privilege, and a sector of huge misery and despair among useless, superfluous people.... South Central Los Angeles once had factories. They moved to Eastern Europe, Mexico, Indonesia.... As you'd expect, this whole structure of decision-making answers to transnational corporations and international banks and raises decision-making to the executive level, leaving a 'democratic deficit,' parliaments and populations with less influence. Not only that, but the public doesn't know what's happening, and it doesn't even know that it doesn't know." Noam Chomsky, UNDERSTANDING POWER, 2002 "So long as power remains privately concentrated, everybody, everybody, has to be committed to one goal, and thats to make sure that the rich folk are happy, because unless they are happy, nobody is going to get anything. So if youre a homeless person sleeping in the streets of Manhattan, your first concern must be that the guys in the mansions are happy, because if theyre happy, theyll invest, and the economy will work, and things will function, then maybe something might trickle down to you somewhere along the line. But if theyre not happy, everything is going to grind to a halt, and youre not even going to get anything trickling down." Noam Chomsky, UNDERSTANDING POWER, 2002, p 200 The United States is off the spectrum: Whats called libertarianism here is unbridled capitalism. Now if you have unbridled capitalism, you have extreme authority. If capital is privately controlled, then people must rent themselves in order to survive. Now you can say, well they freely rent themselves in a free contract, but thats a joke. If your only choice is do what I tell you or starve, that isnt a choiceits wage slavery. Now there are consistent libertarians, and if you read the world they describe, its a world so full of hate that no human would want to live in it. This is a world where you dont have any roads because you dont see any reason why you should cooperate in building a road youre not going to directly use. If you need a road, you get together with other people who need it and you build it, and then you charge people to ride on it! Now who would want to live in a world like that? Its a world built on hatred. The whole things not worth talking about. It couldnt function for one second. And even if it could, all youd want to do is get out, escape, commit suicide or something. Noam Chomsky, UNDERSTANDING POWER, 2002 "Remember the media have two basic functions: One is to indoctrinate the elites to make sure they have the right ideas and know how to serve power. Typically the elites are the most indoctrinated because they are exposed to the most propaganda and take part in decision-making. So for them you have the New York Times and Washington Post and Wall Street Journal. Theres also a mass media whose main function is to just get rid of the rest of the population, to eliminate them from decision-making. So for them its TV sitcoms, National Enquirer, sex and violence, babies with three heads, football, that kind of stuff." Noam Chomsky, UNDERSTANDING POWER, 2002 "You're trained to be obedient, you don't have an interesting job, there's no work around for you that's creative, in the cultural environment you're merely a passive observer. Political and social life are out of your range: they're in the hands of rich folk. So what's left? Well one thing that's left is sports, so you put a lot of intelligence and thought and self-confidence into that. Sports occupies the public and keeps them from getting involved with anything that matters." Che Guevara, "Notes for the Study of Man and Socialism in Cuba," 1965 "The laws of capitalism act upon the individual without his thinking about it. He sees before him only the vastness of an infinite horizon. That is how it is painted by capitalist propagandists who purport to draw their lesson from the example of Rockefeller about the possibilities of success. Well, the amount of poverty and suffering required for the emergence of one Rockefeller, and the amount of depravity that such an accumulation of such a fortune entails, are left out of the picture. The reward is always seen in the distance; the way is lonely. Further on it is a route for wolves: One can succeed only at the cost of failure for others. Wealth is far beyond reach of the masses simply through the process of appropriation. Capitalism uses force but it also educates: Direct propaganda is carried out by those entrusted with explaining the inevitability of class system, either through some theory of divine origin or some theory of natural selection. This lulls the masses since they see themselves as being oppressed by an evil against which it is impossible to struggle. Immediately following comes the hope of improvement, and in this, capitalism differs from preceding caste systems which offered no possibilities for advancement. Hugo Chavez, World Social Forum, Porto Alegre, Brazil, January 2005 "When imperialism feels weak, it resorts to brute force. The attacks on Venezuela are a sign of weakness, ideological weakness. Nowadays almost nobody defends neoliberalism. Up until three years ago, just Fidel Castro and I raised these criticisms at Presidential meetings. We felt lonely, as if we infiltrated those meetings. Just look at the internal repression inside the United States, the Patriot Act, which is a repressive law against US citizens. They put into jail a group of journalists for not revealing their sources. They won't allow them to take pictures of the dead soldiers coming home from Iraq, many of them Latinos. Those are signs of Goliath's weaknesses. The south also exists. The future of the north depends on the south. If we dont make that better world possible, if we fail, and through the rifles of the US Marines, and through Mr. Bush's murderous bombs, if there is no south to resist the offensive of neo-imperialism, and the Bush doctrine is imposed upon the world, the world shall be destroyed. Every day I become more convinced, there is no doubt in my mind: It is necessary to transcend capitalism. But capitalism cannot be transcended from itself, but only through socialism, true socialism, with equality and justice. Im convinced it is possible to do in a democracy, but not in the type of democracy imposed from Washington. We have to re-invent socialism: It cannot be the kind of socialism we saw in the Soviet Union, but it will emerge as we develop new systems built on cooperation, not competition. Privatization is a neoliberal imperialist plan. Healthcare cannot be privatized because it is a fundamental human right, nor can education, water, electricity, other essential public services. They cannot be surrendered to private capital that denies the people of their rights!" Karl Marx, DAS KAPITAL, 1867, Chapter 6: The Buying and Selling of Labour-Power He who before was the money-owner now strides in front as capitalist; the possessor of labour follows as his labourer. The one with an air of importance, smirking, intent on business; the other, timid and holding back, like one who is bringing his own hide to market and has nothing to expect but: a hiding. Karl Marx, Alienated Labour, 1844 The more wealth the worker produces, the more his production increases in power and scope, the poorer he becomes. Indeed, work itself becomes an object which he can obtain only with the greatest effort. His work therefore is not voluntary, but it is coerced, forced labor. If my own activity does not belong to me, if it is alien, a forced activity, to whom, then, does it belong? To a being other than me. Now who is that other being? The gods??? Karl Marx, Manifesto of the Communist Party, 1848 In proportion as the bourgeoisie developed, in the same proportion developed the proletariat, the modern working class, a class of workers who live only so long as they can find work, and who can find work only so long as their labour increases capital. These workers must sell themselves piecemeal as a commodity, exposed to all the competition and fluctuations of the market. Not only are they slaves of the bourgeois class and the bourgeois state; but they are daily and hourly enslaved by the machine and the overseer. No sooner is the exploitation of the worker by the manufacturer, then he is set upon by other portions of the bourgeoisie: the landlord, the shopkeeper, the pawnbroker. Law, morality and religion are to the worker just so many bourgeois prejudices, behind which lurk in ambush just as many bourgeois interests. What the bourgeoisie therefore produces above all, are its own grave-diggers! Karl Marx, DAS KAPITAL, 1867, Chapter 33: Modern Theory of Colonisation The great beauty of capitalist production consists in this, that it not only constantly reproduces wage-worker as wage-worker, but produces always, in proportion to the accumulation of capital, a relative surplus population of wage-workers. Thus the law of supply and demand of labour is kept in the right rut: the social dependence of the labourer upon the capitalist. But in the colonies this pretty fancy is torn asunder: The law of supply and demand of labour falls to pieces. The wage-worker of today is tomorrow an independent peasant or artisan working for himself. They soon cease to be labourers for hire; they become independent landowners, if not competitors with their former masters. Think of the horror! The excellent capitalist has imported bodily from Europe, with his own good money, his own competitors! Therefore let the Government put upon the virgin soil an artificial price, independent of the law of supply and demand, a price that compels the immigrant to work a long time for wages before he can earn enough to buy land. The funds resulting from the sale of such land the Government is to employ to import more have-nothings from Europe, and thus keep the labour market full for the capitalists. The great republic America has therefore ceased to be the Promised Land for immigrant labour. The only thing that interests us here is the secret discovered in the new world: Production and accumulation of capitalist private property requires the annihilation of self-earned private property; in other words, the expropriation of the labourer. Friedrich Nietzsche, TWILIGHT OF THE IDOLS, 1888 "Nothing is ugly except the degenerating man. Everything ugly weakens and saddens man. It reminds him of decay, danger, impotence; it deprives him of strength. Wherever man is depressed at all, he senses the proximity of something ugly. His feeling of power, his Will to Power, his courage, his pride, all fall with the ugly and rise with the beautiful. Every suggestion of exhaustion, heaviness, old age, weariness, disease, lack of freedom, the smell of dissolution, all evoke the same reaction: the value judgment Ugly. A hatred is arousedbut whom does man hate then? There can be no doubt: the decline of his type. Here he hates out of the deepest instinct of his species." Friedrich Nietzsche, DER ANTICHRIST, 1888 "What is good? All that heightens the feeling of power, the Will to Power, power itself. What is bad? All that is born of weakness. What is happiness? The feeling that power is growing, that resistance is being overcome.... Formula of my happiness: A yes, a no, a straight line, a goal.... Out of life's school of war: What does not kill me makes me stronger." Friedrich Nietzsche, THE DAWN, 1881 "I would not know what to say to workers of factory slavery, provided they do not consider it altogether shameful to be used up as they are, as gears of a machine. Phew! To believe that higher pay could abolish your misery, to be talked into thinking that such an increase could transform the Shame of Slavery into a Virtue! Phew! To have a price upon which you become a gear! Are you co-conspirators in the current folly of nations who want to produce as much as possible and be rich as possible? What vast sums of Inner Worth are thrown away. Better to emigrate, and in savage fresh regions seek to be Master of the World and master of myself! Keep changing locations so long as slavery beckons: Never avoid adventure. Be prepared for death. What began at home as dangerous discontent will once outside gain a wild beauty and be called Heroism." |
