THE TIME OF PAN by Jer April 28, 2002 This one took me awhile. I changed my mind about the story just about at every sentence, hopefully I didn’t screw a story line point up =). This story gets real black and graphic towards the end. If you don’t like graphic stories of pain and gore, do not read this. It’s as simple as that. Go read one of my other episodes or go check out some of Ashy Chan’s nifty fictions on her page if this one is not good for you. Hopefully you enjoy this one anyway!! =P Episode 3 Pan was astonished at how this mysterious old man knew so much about her. He not only called her by name, but also knew of her father. He obviously had something to do with the fight occurring above between Goku and Gohan. “How do you know such things about me?!” asked Pan in both an angry and confused voice. He grinned slightly at Pan. The old man seemed terribly evil and confident about something, it was a feeling that seemed to radiate from all around him. “We know all about everything, Pan. It is this knowledge that gives us supreme power over all.” “We? Us? Who are you talking about?” asked Pan. “We are Ryuujin.” The old man replied. The old man was simply confusing. Pan looked up to see the fight that had been going on. Through the fury of punches and kicks, Pan could recognize that the fight wasn’t authentic. Gohan was barely trying and the entity of Goku, whom was fighting in his familiar style, seemed too slow and weak. Goku pushed off of one of Gohan’s attacks, putting distance between them. The expression on Goku’s face was emotionless, entirely uncharacteristic of him. He reached to his side with both of his hands, cupping them as if to hold a sphere. “KAAAA……MEEEEEE…..”, called out Goku, drawing power for an attack known all to well. “HAAA….MEEEEEE….”, called Goku once again, creating a bluish glow within his hands. Gohan was not impressed, he seemed both bored and annoyed at the fact that this attack had been called by this impostor already this night. Ryuujin glanced up at the fight in the sky. He raised his left hand to the air, pointing with his index finger towards Goku. At that moment, the black sky lit up with bolts of lighting, ripping through the night air. It could be seen that in the black of the night, dark black clouds were looming overhead. Ryuujin then lowered his hand back down to his side slowly and as he did, Goku slowly faded. Goku became more translucent as Ryuujin’s hand lowered. The voice of Goku shouting out the Kame Hame Ha attack fell silent and the intense glow of his power faded away. Ryuujin’s hand hung limp at his side as the entity of Goku vanished. Gohan quickly dropped out of the sky, landing next to Pan. Gohan was wearing black pants and a dark blue gi top tied with a black sash around his waste. Gohan had been in constant training since Goku left, both individually and with Pan. Pan looked up at her father with relief, now knowing he was all right. She believed that her father was now just as strong as her grandpa due to his non-stop training day after day. Gohan looked down at Pan, “I thought you were going to stay at the house”. “I thought you would need my help!” Pan exclaimed. “Besides, what are you doing way out here with this old guy, and what was that you were fighting just now?!” Pan was both confused and worried about the situation. She waited intently for an answer. “This old man, Ryuujin called me here,” explained Gohan, turning his attention to the old man. “I woke up and felt the intense power in the air. A power that didn’t belong. So I raced out here to find him.” “We decided to entertain him,” Ryuujin interrupted with a raspy voice. “We summoned a friend of his to keep him company.” The old man chuckled to himself. He took two steps forward towards Gohan and Pan. The tattoo of the 3-star dragon ball on his head shimmered slightly. “What are you? What is your business here?” Asked Gohan, attempting to advance the situation. “You cannot comprehend our being. Nor can you understand the depth of our strength. Our purpose is to cleanse this universe and create a new one more appropriate to our liking.” “Cleanse?” asked Gohan intently. “We will annihilate universal life. In it’s place, an improved, superior race will be created to better serve our purposes.” Ryuujin seemed confident of his mission and overly joyful. Gohan clenched his teeth and squeezed his fists tightly. Pan wanted to smash Ryuujin’s face in, but now didn’t seem to be the time. “You do realize that I will have to interrupt your plans, “ Gohan said with a smirk. Raising both hands in front of him, Gohan summoned intense power. The dust of the ground rapidly jetted away from Gohan’s feet. A golden yellow flame of energy engulfed Gohan’s body, surging towards the sky. The black hair atop Gohan’s head arched back. His hair burst into a surge of golden streaks, coloring it bright golden yellow. The blackness of Gohan’s eyes faded to reveal bright green pupils, a sign that the transformation to Super Saiyan had been completed. Pan looked at her dad in awe. She had seen him do this many times, but every time she felt very proud. It was the pinnacle of the Saiyan Race’s Power, and it was something Pan had longed to achieve. “I don’t want you involved in this fight, Pan,” said Gohan, looking down at his daughter. Disappointed at being denied a swing at Ryuujin, Pan nodded and backed up a few feet giving her father some maneuvering room. Gohan rushed forward in a blast of energy, fragmenting the ground he was standing on. His fist impacted with Ryuujin’s cheek, knocking him from his feet and sending him flying. Gohan flew with extreme speed and met with Ryuujin’s flying body several feet away before it could react to the punch. Gohan plowed his elbow into Ryuujin’s back, halting the flying body in mid-air. A spinning kick sent Ryuujin air-borne across the night sky. Gohan flew low across the ground, ripping out a trench with his power. Flying just below Ryuujin, parallel to his body, Gohan pointed both his hands up towards the old man. A bluish blast of energy pulsated from Gohan’s hands, impacted with Ryuujin, sending him straight up, further into the darkened sky. Gohan surged with energy and lunged up into the air at an arc. He intercepted with Ryuujin’s flying body, catching one of his legs. Gohan dove straight at the ground, dragging the old man with him. Gohan flipped during his decent, placing Ryuujin below him. Gohan held his victim with both hands and called out, “Kame….Hame…….HAAAAA!!!!” A large wave of energy separated Gohan and Ryuujin, halting Gohan’s speedy downward decent and planting Ryuujin into the earth with an extreme explosion of rock, smoke, and dust. Gohan planted his feet on the ground nearby and waited for the debris to settle and the dust to clear. There floating above the immense crater was Ryuujin. His garments were tattered yet he was unscathed. “You are stronger than we predicted,” said Ryuujin, wiping the blood from his brow, “But you still stand little chance against us.” Ryuujin quickly shifted his eyes to the left. He lifted his left arm, blocking a fast moving object striking him from the side. It was Pan! Though Pan was fast, she was not quick enough to break Ryuujin’s defense. Ryuujin quickly whipped his arm around, grabbing Pan by the throat. Pan gagged under the strain of his hand. Not only was being too slow embarrassing, but now she was in a bad situation for both her and Gohan. “So nice of you to volunteer to die first!” Ryuujin squeezed Pan’s throat a little more, causing her to choke. Both of Pan’s hands grasped the powerful arm of Ryuujin in an attempt to break free, but she lacked the strength to over power him. A glow began to emit from the hand wrapped around Pan, showing his increasing power. “NOOO!” Screamed Gohan, lunging forward toward Ryuujin. ‘Your father has made a fatal mistake,’ whispered Ryuujin into Pan’s ear. Pan’s eyes widened at his statement. She knew this was a bad situation she was in, for both her and her father. As Gohan neared to Ryuujin, he moved Pan’s body in front of himself, showing her back to Gohan. Ryuujin then raised his other hand to Pan’s stomach, powering it up. Pan could feel the heat of energy across her stomach. Ryuujin released his grip on Pan only to throw her back with an energy blast. Pan was thrown back with great force, striking Gohan as he charged forward. Ryuujin, still pushing with the beam, put forth a great amount of energy. The beam grew in power and began to push into Pan. Pan felt the energy traverse through her body. The two of them skidded along the ground and came to a stop in the grass. Pan lay atop her father, staring up at the sky. There was no feeling, only the sound of her racing heart beat. Then the shock struck like lightning through her entire body. Pan grasped her stomach feeling where she had been hit. The pain was immense. Pan winced under the pain. She felt the wound upon herself and realized what had happened, the beam had gone through!! Pan’s thoughts flew from her wound to her father. What happened to him? The sound of laughter could be heard. Ryuujin was content at his victory. Pan heard the sound of him flying off into the sky. She felt alone there on the ground. Pan could feel the blood on her hands. Shots of pain continued to surge up and down Pan’s spine. Though many thoughts raced through Pan’s mind, the fact that her father wasn’t moving beneath her was the most horrifying. Pan hoped that his arms would wrap around her. He would say ‘everything will be fine’. Pan began to quiver in the cold night air. Regardless of the fact that she was a Saiyan, Pan could no longer withstand her condition. Pan closed her eyes and blacked out…..
