| THE TIME OF PAN by Jer April 12, 2002 In this second episode, the fun begins! These next few episodes will generally shape the rest of the story so I basically had to come up with the whole thing before making this one. Theres some crazy stuff in this episode that leads in to other stuff so don't fall asleep! =) Episode 2 Ha Ha, I win! Pan exclaimed as she planted her feet on the ground in front of ChiChis house. Gohan landed second, smiling at Pan. You certainly are getting faster. I remember when you were younger and made pouty faces at me for flying too fast. Pan acted embarrassed, I hate those when I was younger stories! Too bad. Ill bet your Grandma will have plenty of stories for you, said Gohan, chuckling to himself. Pan grumbled on the way in the house. The house was filled with the smell of food. The first thing on Pans mind was of how intense training really helps work up an appetite. The second thing on Pans mind was of her Grandfather. Where this smell was found, Goku would be nearby. Oh good, youre not a monster yet. Pans thoughts were interrupted by the familiar voice of her Grandmother ChiChi. What do you mean monster? Pan asked defensively. You know, the yellow hair and the super strength! Goku and Gohan were always breaking things when they ran around as Super Saiyans. I just hope that Goten was the last little monster in this family. But Grandma ChiChi, I want to become a Super Saiyan! Im tired of being the only one who cant do it. Its like family tradition to become a Super Saiyan! What for?! ChiChi shot back, Theres no reason for such power anymore. You should just settle down and forget about all that. Before Pan could get any words out, ChiChi shoved a Gyoza (dumpling) into Pans mouth. Now go have a seat with your dad and eat, ChiChi lightly told Pan. Mmmphmmmamm, said Pan, half choking on the Gyoza. Gohan was already face first into the food on the table. Gohan looked up at Pan with his face covered in rice, Dwis is gwood! Com om Pam, havm som! Pan put on some old orange pajamas. After listening to her Grandmother reminisce about old adventures with Goku, Pan was about to pass out. It was late anyhow and Pan wanted to be rested up for a full day of training tomorrow. Tomorrow will be the day, Pan said with confidence. Pan had recently turned 15, and since then, all she could think about was becoming a Super Saiyan. Gohan agreed to try and help Pan achieve her goal. They chose the wilderness area in the general vicinity of ChiChis house, where so many events occurred. It was where so many had been trained before, where all seemed right with the world, so it just seemed like the right place. Pan laid back on the bed and slowly drifted off to sleep. Swirling darkness. Thats what dreams are like. They are a mix of memories and darkness. Through this darkness, mystery lies. This mystery can be the past, like forgotten memories. It can be the present, like the phenomenon of the night and all the life within. And sometimes, through the blackest realm of the mind, the future can be seen. The future comes through dreams every so often. It shows small events of joy and woe. It is on this night that the future reaches out, a great warning of times to come. Heed these warnings, for they come for a purpose. The purpose,..well that is the mystery. Pan.. called a voice. Who is it, Pan answered to the faint voice. you must leaveit is no longer safe here. What do you mean? Pan shouted back. ..This place can not be savedyou must escape... Escape to where? replied Pan Away from herefar from here.. I dont understand, called Pan. .seek power elsewhere..far from here.. What do you want?! shouted Pan. ..far from herefrom here.from.here... KAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~ The windows rattled from a distant explosion. Pan quickly jerked up, sweat poring from her head. It took a few seconds for Pan to gather her thoughts of where she was. Whats going on? A squeal was heard in the distance, like a fire cracker screaming through the air. It grew louder as it drew nearer. BOOOOMMMM!!! The light of the explosion flared the room as bits of debris rained down on the house. Pan quickly ran from her bedroom. Her Grandmother was sitting at the table with her arms over her head. Grandma ChiChi, whats going on, whats that noise?! ChiChi looked up with tearful eyes. Your father ran out of the house an hour ago, she explained. He just said to stay here. I just know something terrible is happening. Pan quickly ran to the door. No Pan, your father said you should stay here! Pan looked back from the doorway, I have to help him, I know he will need my help. Pan ran from the house and took flight. No, come back! called ChiChi from the ground. It was too late, there was no stopping her now. Be careful, Pan. It was cold outside. The breeze blew into Pans face as she shot threw the air. Pan realized she was still in her orange pajamas, but her father was far more important. What could it be that caused father to run out like this in the middle of the night. Pan felt a sudden surge of energy. She could sense powers out in the night. She could feel Gohans energy out there. Vegita and Trunks could also be felt way off in the other direction, towards the city. Ubuus energy could also be felt somewhere far off. What is this? Why is everyone powered up? Pan wondered. .you must leave.it is no longer safe here.. Pan remembered the voice from her dream. No, I cant just leave. Dad may need my help! Pan powered up and raced towards the direction of Gohan. Wild explosions and great power could be felt near a big clearing in the forest. Pan landed nearby and ran to the edge of the clearing to see what was going on. There an intense sight could be seen. Moving back and forth through the air like mad hornets were Gohan and..Grandpa Goku?!!! It was indeed Grandpa! There was no mistaking him. His fighting style, his voice, the same blue and yellow uniform, even the hairstyle! But how can this be? thought Pan. How can Grandpa be here, and fighting my Dad. I dont even sense Grandpa there, Its as if its just a ghost! Pan knew that this scene was wrong. Pans attention was suddenly drawn to something else in the sky. There floating above the fight was an old man. He was very tall and muscular and had a long and thin white mustache and long black and white hair. He wore baggy bright red pants with some sort of black dragon design going down one of the pants legs. He also wore a black vest, barely covering up his muscular build. The most noticeable feature about him was the tatoo of a dragonball on his forehead. He watched the fight with intense eyes. The expression on his face was that of joy. Goku as well as the mysterious man seemed somehow out of place. You neednt watch from the sidelines. Pan whipped her head around towards the voice. It was the old man! How did he move so fast?! He was much bigger than he seemed when he was up in the air. His cold solid black eyes gazed into Pans eyes. Pan could feel his presence in the pit of her stomach. His power seemed empty, yet overwhelming. Do not be shy Pan, you may join in with your father. |
