1984 Antonio Margheriti Italy/Switzerland

Starring: Lewis Collins, Lee Van Cleef, Ernest Borgnine, Mimsy Farmer, Klaus Kinski, Luciano Pigozzi
This late-entry Margheriti actioner is one hell of a fun flick. Nothing too special, but it really grows on ya, well, it grew on me.

Produced by Erwin Dietrich, the man behind some of Jess Franco's best films-Jack The Ripper, Blue Rita, Barbed Wire Dolls etc-and featuring a humongous cast of Euro genre actors-Lee Van Cleef, Klaus Kinski, Mimsy Farmer, among others...heck, there's even a David Warbeck impersonator by the name of Lewis Collins!

So the useless plot has to do with a crack paramilitary squad infiltrating a drug lord's compound somewhere in the golden triangle. Of course no one watches a Margheriti action film for deep, moving plots-so we'll forget about that. there's lots of stylish photography, some goofy miniatures, Klaus Kinski and his quite tooth-filled smile, and a flame thrower-equipped hellicopter.

I have no idea why, but this film has become one of my favorite Margheriti films. Dumb as dirt, but so stylishly done that you gotta love it.
