Hello and welcome to F.R.E.N.D's latest news! This page contains lots'a cool images from previous and upcoming F.R.E.N.D projects. My deepest apologies if you had to wait a while for this long page to load. I wanted to give you the best image quality I could. I hope you find it satisfying and eye pleasing. F.R.E.N.D feline mecha (the comic book) is in very early stage of production right now. My bud, Tone Rodriguez (Violent Messiahs) wants to help me out in releasing this exciting new title under world famous IMAGE COMICS! Let's hope it all works out! And thank you all for your visiting support!
Theres a small trail of history where F.R.E.N.D originated. Music, love and a dream. Julio (Nar) came up with a story about a feline mecha and a little boy who fought side by side to save the earth of certain destruction at the hands of evil space freaks.
Nar wanted to create a world where his inner feelings can bloom and roam, hoping to find some sense in this world of madness.
F.R.E.N.D isn't just a cute cartoon character made up for the hopes of getting rich to him. No..
F.R.E.N.D is like a vessel. A vessel that will bring down all the forever sadness that plagues our world. Bringing forth the goodness of Love and vanquishing the darkness of hate. All in this small world of comics. Comics which also contain its own mysteries.
F.R.E.N.D started it's first run in a company called Divum Inc. A company that also had dreams relating to comic book production. Nar signed in the company for F.R.E.N.D's debut in a comic book that went under the title "Jumbo Comics".
It was called Jumbo because the comic itself contain various stories which other team members had created. After alot of hard work, the company realized that the possibilities of the book becoming a success was too slim.
Therefore, the entire project was aborted.
Sadly, F.R.E.N.D and the others never got to see the light of day.
The team then split up and went their own ways. Some decided to move in different mediums such as film and video games. Others stayed. Julio (Nar) being one of them who stayed.
Julio couldn't let go of his creation, but he understood the situation. So he decided to store F.R.E.N.D into comic book limbo for the time being.
It was a sad moment, but his hopes were kept alive with dreams and thoughts of F.R.E.N.D jumping into the big screen.
Imagine how wonderful it would be if F.R.E.N.D was brought out as a feature film; Anime shows; Cool F.R.E.N.D toys and accesories. All of these thoughts that run through Julio's mind is what keeps those hopes alive. But it's going to take good timing and a hell of alot more practice.
One of many important details of this story, is to make it fun. Fun to read, fun to look at and just fun to own. Another is to let the reader know that this is a story and not a franchise. Although there is no real problem with that happening, Julio likes to stick to the original idea of what F.R.E.N.D is about. Friendship and love.
IMAGES FROM THE PAST
NEW PRODUCTION
Heres a small glimpse of whats coming. Debates of how the final project will look is still on the rise.
But you can sure bet were gonna make it kick butt! The picture below is just a cover idea for the first issue of F.R.E.N.D. It hasn't been finalized and may end up being a variant instead.
Divum inc. had Julio draw and write 20 to 22 pages every two weeks. A deadline that could of killed him but didn't because the pay was cool! =) hehehe...
PAPER AND A PENCIL (artist's best friends)

Always start a drawing by sketching out a layout of the idea you'd like to work on. Once your happy with the layout, start cleaning it up with your penciling skills. Do it nice so incase you hand it out to an inker, he/she won't come knocking on your door with a baseball bat.
Ahhh...the colors. The stuff that brings life to your work.
A very important note: Always try to pick the best set of colors when painting your work. Understand the use of the
"color wheel".
In other words, don't stick neon purple with dark blue or orange unless the job calls for it. Use them to blend nicely with highlights and etc. Note how I used similar colors with the same tone of grey for every wire, pipe and tube below. Since I wanted to have F.R.E.N.D. stand out, I had to do it this way.
Otherwise, you'd probably be confused at all the noise below him. =)
Finally, the fun part (actually everything here was fun to do) The finishing touches for your grand masterpiece! Make it sing and shine!! ....Only when it's necessary though. Don't go crazy all the time. It tends to get on people's nerves sometimes. Just do what you know is necessary to help without taking away from your original idea. You'll be surprised at what can turn out using only two colors.
ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Remember that not all your projects will come out to be perfect (the sooner you accept this, the better), but always try to cover all areas of your work before turning it it for publication where the WHOLE WIDE WORLD can take a look at how great of an artist you are or.......how inexperienced you are.
The choice is yours. So DO-YOUR-BEST.
Trust me. I've taken the fall so many times it's not even funny. >:(
.......well..... OK, it is kinda funny =) But still, do your best.
Ok, now repeat after me..... DO-- YOUR-- BEST......
....fine don't repeat it.
...punk.
Heres a sneek peek at one of many of julio's concepts for F.R.E.N.D feline mecha. By the way, people always think I'm misspelling F.R.E.N.D without the "I". It's not friend. It's just F.R.E.N.D. which stands for Feline Robot Ectype Neo Developement. Hopefully, you already knews this. And no, Lil Julio's character is not based on me and my life. At the time I was working with Divum inc. I hadn't come up with a name for him (but I never said anything) and left him with mines. The company said they liked it and saw it unnecessary to change it.
