Wake up call
It all started like a dream; Perfect, unbelievably sweet, and the feeling You get when you never want to awake. Everything was awesome, we clicked right from the start.
Everyone thought we were so cute together; Under their encouraging smiles, we flourished. Our feelings for each other grew stronger As the days together past. We were inseparable.
Day by day our love became more apparent. In public, we were known as the perfect couple, The couple everyone thought would forever remain, The pair that never fought.
Except we did. Little by little, We fought. Kidding around at first, Slowly the fighting grew, so subtle That neither of us noticed when it became serious.
Gently, a rift creeped in between us. Still loving each other kept us going, And we got through many fights. At the end of the day, our love still held strong.
Somewhere along the way, we changed, Both on the inside and out. We no longer Survived a week without fighting. But we kept On smiling in public, deceiving others and ourselves.
We eventually drifted apart. It was hard to continue When all we ever did was fight. We still had a Great time together, but neither of us could deny that Somewhere along the way, something had changed.
I look back on our times together, and I have no regrets. We had so much fun, no denying, but the time has come For us to move on. The lying, the yelling, the tears shed And the pain are just no longer worth it.
I realise it is hard for you to move on, as it is also hard for me; but all good things must end Eventually, and I now see that I, unlike you, Have woken from the dream.
This is just a wake up call. Your alarm Has gone off, the dream you had still lingers; But life does go on, and as you lay in your bed, Smile for me, for us, then get up and face the day.
I know you can, I believe in you. Face the day and seize it, if not for you, Then as a last gift for me. And remember, Always will I be your friend. I am here for you.
Forever here for you, Morganne O'Dory
