Crepes
Crepes are the best food in the world. Seriously. There can't be anything better than a fresh hot banana and nutella crepe, unless, of course, it's love. But that's not the issue. The point is, you can't beat crepes in the food world. It's been a long time since I've found a snack food that I enjoy to eat so much. Not that I have had many. I mean, they beat *gasp* oreos! And they're hard to beat.
I discovered crepes while in France, at a little crepe shop in Paris that Carlos lead us to, that had been discovered by Hebert's group one day, and was now a favorite snacking spot for our fellow classmates. We were tired after a long day of walking around Paris, but they were well worth the time it took to make them from scratch. The maker of crepes [master de crepes? crepere?] knew what he was doing, and just watching the making of the crepes was amusing. I never realised it would taste so good as well!
Recently, after getting back from France where I discovered this delightful creation, Shannon and I tried to make crepes. Her mom has a crepe maker, we were armed with Nutella and cinnamon spread and cinnamon sugar, and the crepe recipe, and so we attempted to create our own fantastical food. The first one was way too thin, and it broke into eight or so pieces. But during the day, we managed to make almost perfect crepes. Only they were a little too thick. And the recipe wasn't the same. But at least we attempted to recreate them.
Just the thought of crepes, France ones, of course, makes me salivate. Guess Pavlov's experiment would work on me.....
I guess the point is, whenever you go to France, you have to try crepes. Not just because I said so, but because they are well worth the wait. I guess what I'm really trying to say here, is that I've discovered some awesome things while being in France, and I wanted to share them with you. Because crepes really are better than initially thought, and I thought they would be good. I guess I'll never really be that amazingly good at creating them, so I'll just have to go back to France one day. I'll have an interesting excuse...
