This morning, I was dancing around the kitchen, cleaning up, while listening to the Beach Boys. Later on, I was lying on my bed, and still listening to the Beach Boys. I haven't listened to them in such a long time. They remind me of my father.
I can remember one of my earliest childhood memories, I was sitting in my father's truck, waiting for something, chewing chorophyll (?) gum [the green stuff that's minty] and listening to the Beach Boys on the radio. It was Surfer Girl, or something equally upbeat; one of the popular beats. I remember my father sitting beside me, singing along. I remember chips and dip, a big bag of ruffles old dutch chips and french onion dip, other things that constantly remind me of my father. I remember it was cold out; it must have been in Victoria, Christmas some year or something. I also think we were in front of a convenience store. I have no idea how old I was, and yet I can remember taste, sight, sound, and touch. Amazing, isn't it? So much conviction in one memory. I wonder how old I was. I wonder what the circumstances were. I wonder....
