| Welcome To My Life: Chapter Two - Road Trip
Disclaimer: Everything in this chapter is by me. Please excuse any errors, this is not yet betaed. Rating: PG-13 Stephanie was wearing a green, short-sleeved, button-up shirt with blue jeans and black dress sandles. Her blondish brown hair fell down past her shoulders and she was wearing oval glasses. Her make up was put on lightly to access her facial features to bring out her brown eyes. Winky was wearing a pink spagetti strap shirt, blue jeans and pink sandles. Her hair was also blondish brown and unlike Stephanie, she had pulled it up into a poney tail. She was wearing light pink make up with sparkles. They pulled me down the flight of stairs that led to the first floor and the parking lot. We all got into her white pontiac fire bird. The interior was all brown and it was a two door. The back seats were so close to the front, that it was hard to get into the car. By the time I got in and sat down my legs were scrunched up against the passanger side seat. I felt crowded, so I stretched my legs out across the back seat and buckled my seat belt. Once the other two were in, Steph started the car and put it in reverse. She backed the car out of the space she was in and headed out the parking lot. My apartments sat in the middle between an elementary school and an old Dr. Pepper plant. There wasn't much of anything else in my area except houses across the road. You could even see the interstate from my complex. The car moved along at about twenty-five miles an hour, even thought the speed limit in this zone was only fifteen. I just sat back saying nothing while trying to figure out what they were up to, but it could be a thousand things. She took a left on Rt. 11 toward Verona. Town was only a few minutes from where I lived. Rt. 11 consists of houses, A Beer company, a hair place and a pet care center. Outside of Verona is Kathy's one of our local restaraunts. We also have our post office, gas stations, stores, banks, etc. Stephanie stopped at a red light, while Winky bopped her head up and down to the music that was playing. People were starting to stare, so she rolled down the window and started singing to them. We were on the intersection of Lee Hwy and Laurell Hill Rd and it was heavy with traffic, so you could imagine what the people where thinking. It was the Banana Song from Beetle Juice. Once the light turned green, Stephanie floored it and took a left down Laurell Hill Rd. It was enough to make us nearly go up on two tires, throwing both me and winky up against the doors. Winky screamed, "Stephanie Woodson, slow it down." "Well it's your own fault," She screamed back. Once the car was had slowed down to it's rightful speed, Winky smacked Steph in the arm. Steph smacked back. Winky howled, then yelled, "What the hell did you do that for?" "Cause you hit me first, replied Stephanie. "Well you try to kill me," Winky explained. "It's your fault not mine," Steph comented. Winky's eyes got big and she was flabbergasted, "How is it my fault?" Stephanie glared at her and said, "If you don't know, then I'm not telling you." Trying hard not to laugh, I leaned over the seat and enlightened my sister why it was her fault. "Winky it's your fault cause you rolled down the window and started singing that awful song out the window. I wouldn't be surprised if they have nightmares about their food coming alive tonight," I stated. She smacked me on the head and pushed me back in the seat, "You stay out of this. Maybe the people wanted to hear my lovely voice," she replied. Stephanie pulled the car into the Exxon station. My curiosity getting the better of me, I asked them before Steph had a chance to get out of the car,"So were are we going and what are you two up to," I asked. Stephanie smiled at me through the mirror and replied, "You'll see." Then she looked over at Winky before she got out of the car to fill up the gas tank Winky just went, "He He He," in her evil laughter voice. I rolled my eyes and said to myself, 'Yep these two were up to no good and I'm in the middle of it.' Winky got out of the car and looked in at me and asked, "You want anything. Soda, snacks. You'll need it, cause it's going to be a long drive before the next stop." I glared at her and answered, "What do you mean by that and I'll take a Mountain Dew and some Pizza Combos." She went he he he again and said, "You'll find out soon enough." Then disappeared before I could get anything else out of her. A few minutes later they both came back with a few bags. Winky handed me a bag and I looked into it and said, "Good God Winky, what did you do by the entire store." "Just about," she answered. I opened my purse and handed her what should be enough money to cover the bag of goodies. She waved her hand and said, "Keep it. It's on me." "Are you sure," I asked. "Yep," she replied. I shrugged my shoulders and said,"Ok, but if you need, just let me know." We left the gas and was on the road a quarter to one in the afternoon. Apparently they weren't going to tell me anything anytime soon. We took I-81 south bound and went past all three Staunton exits. At this point, I was getting worried as to what they were up to and made them tell me what was going on. Steph looks over at Winky and asked, "You think we should go ahead and tell her." Winky rolled her eyes and replied, "Like what she going to do Steph, jump out of the car." Steph stuck her tongue out at my sister and I was feed up with their games. "Just tell me or your going to kill me from thinking to hard," I said. "That wouldn't take much Punk," Steph said. "Ha Ha," I replied. She smiled and gave me the run down on what they were up to. "We got a call late last night from Mike. He said they were letting him out today on good behavior. So we're going to go and pick him up. Mom can't go with us, so she told us to kidnapp you and take you along. She figures you wouldn't mind since Chris was at work." My mouth dropped and I just stared at her. When I could speak, it came out more as a screech, "We're doing what? Chris is going to kill us for this. We are going to be back before he gets home aren't we, cause I'm not going to be the one to tell him this." "Wo Punk, slow it down now. No need to get all hostile. Stephanie can explain it to Chris," Winky answered. "Me. What are you crazy? If anyone should tell him, it's Punk. He's her husband, not ours," Stephanie nearly yelled. I put my hands to my head and prayed to the Goddess that we'll get back before Chris gets home from work or we all are dead. Stephanie and Winky were now arguing over the food. I just groaned and mumbled under my breath, 'It's going to be a long ride with these two. Then there's Mike on the way back, oh Goddess help me.' |
