Chapter 6

Sylvie decided that we should go to the lupanar to finish our little talk.
I didn't like this one bit, not because I was scared, but I didn't want them to freak out on me. I also valued my life, and so I wasn't too thrilled about going into the lupanar. I let her know just that, "Sylvie, I don't know if Richard told you what mom has told him about me, but taking me to the lupanar is a very bad idea."
She turned to look at me," Yes, Richard told me about you. He wanted to see it for himself, but since he's not here, I'm going to have to do it myself."
"Are you going to tell him what you see, or are you going to keep it to yourself?" I asked.
"In the situation he's in at the moment, if I think he can handle it, I'll tell him. If not, I won't tell him," she said and turned around to continue walking to the lupanar.
The night was getting worse as time went by, I really wished I knew why my grandparents sent me to my father's.

We hadn't gotten far when the power and the magic in the land started to stir. The earth started to move beneath us. I could feel the fire running deep below in the earth's core. The wind picked up and started howling. Then it started to rain, causing the spirits to rise once again tonight. This wasn't looking good and I was probably going to be in a lot of trouble. The further we walked towards the clearing, the stronger the power grew. It was so strong I thought I was going to suffocate. I looked around and noted the others were feeling the effect. They were all on their knees changing. Yes, I was definitely in trouble. The power couldn't make me change, since my shields were up. If I didn't let them down however, I was going to suffocate. I did the only thing I could do, I ran for the lupanar and the center of power.

I was running so fast, I didn't realize I had come to the center of the lupanar until the power hit me full force. I had no choice but to let my shields down. That's how the magic overtook me. The earth opened up and grabbed my feet. It pulled me under like the roots of a tree. I could not move; it was like my feet were nothing more than cement. I felt the fire run through me setting my very soul on fire. The air became a whirlwind and blew so hard; it started to blow through me. With the wind came the water that chilled me to the bone. The spirits surrounded me, trying to pull me to the ground. They couldn't get me down, because the earth had me bound down inside of her. They wanted to greet me and I them, but they couldn't get the earth to let go. Instead they went through me to greet my beast and the spirits inside of me. I screamed as the elements went through me. My vision started to blur from the multiple colored lights that were surrounding me. Finally, after what seemed forever, the magic in the land was satisfied. It sunk back into the earths core and my soul.

I fell to the ground, breathing heavily and shaking really bad. My power wasn't done with me. I felt it trying to come back up to the surface. I tried to stop it, but it wanted to be released, especially my beast. I was fighting it, but I knew it was a losing battle, so I gave in to the power and it exploded through me. I screamed yet again as I changed with the magic. My beast came forth with a vicious howl. The back of my beast split open to release a huge set of wings. My fur was blood red and my wings were pitch black. My eyes were a husky-blue instead of their normal grayish-blue.

I tried to get up, but I was too weak. The magic was draining all my strength and all I could do was fall to the ground.. I felt noses and other parts rub up against me. The other wolves had come to see if I was okay. A brown wolf started to lick me, and I knew it was Sylvie. She had a worried look on her face. I don't know if it was for Richard or me. Since it was outside of the full moon. I'd be back to normal in an hour. I didn't know how long it would take the others. I needed rest, but I couldn't fall asleep here in the circle. However, sleep overtook me. The last thing I remembered was the other wolves curling up next to me, trying to keep warmth from leaving me.
