Disclaimer: Everything belongs to Laurell K. Hamilton, Jim Butcher, J.K. Rowling and The Berkley Publishing Company. Nothing belongs to me, this is just a parody for your entertainment. Rating: Evil laughter followed me as I ran for my life. Running through a forest out of someones nightmare. The ground was dead and bare, cracking open from the dryness of the earth. Trees were dead and had long ago lost their leaves and color. They twisted around each other making the path before me harder to follow. Darkness was all around me as I felt eyes watching me from behind the trees. I could see the red eyes glowing back at me from the dark corners of the forest. Howling could be heard in the distance as rain began to pour down over my shoulders. Something nipped at my heals and I ran faster only to be stop by something sticky. I panicked and began to struggle against the sticky substance. The evil laughter that had been haunting me came close to my ears. A bright light shone through the darkness to reveal a figure in black robes. They moved toward me with a flow and when I looked down the person was levitating off the ground. Once the figure was face to face with me, they pulled back a black hood to show me my worst nightmare. Vesamis was starring back at me with eyes of pure black. She had a long face with a pointy nose. There was a tightness to her skin that it seemed her face was all angles and bone. Vesamis leaned forward putting her lips inches away from mine. From the light she was casting all around us, I noticed that her robes were solid black with the mark of the black moon upon it. "So we meet at last Gravits," she hissed against my mouth. I gulped and she smiled seeing the fear in my face. "Why on earth would the council send a mere boy to kill me? Dont they know by now that I will send their bodies back to them in ashes? Tell me Gravits do you really think you can take me? I can smell your fear, it is like a cloud of the sweetest perfume all around you," she stated with a cold smile. I found my courage and replied, "You wont get away with this. If I cant stop you someone else will." She leaned back, then slapped me hard across the face, throwing my head back with a force that left a ringing sound in my ears. Vesamis screamed at the top of her lungs, "You forget yourself boy. The only one who might have had the chance to stop me is still in a coma. Do you honestly think that anyone else will have the balls to come face to face with me? If you think that, then youre a pathetic fool." Vesamis strode a few feet away from me and turned her back to me, while mumbling to herself, then she swiftly turned back to face me with her evil eyes and a smile that would impress the Grinch himself. A new bolt of fear shot through me and once more I started struggling against the sticky stuff that held me. Until now I hadnt taken the time to look at my prison, one glance and I froze. I was in no ordinary sticky stuff; I was trapped in a spiders web and a huge one at that. It was well over a ten feet across. Evil laughter brought my attention back to Vesamis, who pointed a finger at me with a cackle to her voice, "Your time is up boy, now you will die. She began to speck to something in the trees, "Come my little pet, its time for your dinner." I stared at her with pure fear as my heart began to race and panic set in. Something moved onto the web, I felt its weight as the web began to sink a little to the ground. I turned my head as fast as the sticky webbing would allow and looked over my shoulder. An enormous tarantula was coming straight for me. I began to pull harder on my bindings, while evil laughter surrounded me. The webs hold grew stronger and I began to scream as the spider leaned over me. Vesamiss laughter died upon the wind as she disappeared from sight, leaving me here as food for an over grown spider. I screamed again as it came down upon me sending me into a bright light. I bolted up right somewhere else with sweat poring down my face. I looked around to find myself in a hospital room, hooked up to machines Ive never seen before. I sighed in relief and lied back down on the bed, praying to the gods that it was only a nightmare. |
