"It's about time you woke up. I've been trying to get you up for the last half hour," She said. "What time is it?" I asked. "Nine thirty in the morning," She answered. I looked at her and said, "You've got to be kidding me." "Sorry Wish I was," she replied. "You mean to tell me I've been out for five hours almost?" I asked. "Yes," She said. I sat up and the world began to spin. I had an awful headache and was about to be sick. Anita took one look at me and ran for the kitchen. She came back just in time with a small trash can and a wash rag before I could throw up all over her carpet. The entire pard had come into the living room, while I was losing my stomach. All that came out of my stomach was bile and water. About five minutes later my stomach settled down and I felt better. The room was no longer spinning and my head wasn't hurting that much anymore. Anita handed the trash can to Caleb to take care of. He tried to protest, but one glare from her and he left the room with the garbage. She sat down on the sofa and handed me a wet rag. When I was finished washing me face she asked, "Are you all right?" "Yeah, I'll even be better after a hot shower and some food." I answered. "Good," she replied. I sat there for a few minutes with my head leaning against the back of the sofa. I glanced over at Anita who was still watching me. I think she was trying to make sure I wasn't going to throw up again. "So what time are we suppose to meet Dolph this morning?" I asked. "We have an appointment with him in an hour. So you might want to go get a shower and get ready," she replied. "Ok," I said then remembered that I left my bag in her jeep. "I have to go out to your car and get my bag," I told her. "No need. I had Nathaniel bring it in this morning. It's downstairs in my bathroom," she said. I smiled at her and said, "Thanks." She smiled back and replied, "Your welcome." I eased up off the sofa making sure my stomach stayed where it was. Anita motioned me to follow her and I did. We went back downstairs to her bathroom. It was on the landing before you entered the basement. I stepped in behind her and let out a whistle. The bathroom looked like a bath from the queens chambers in The Three Musketeers movie. It still had a shower stall by itself with sliding glass doors, but the bathtub was of white marble, with a wide rim to sit things on, three steps in the front of the tub, and a canopy type top. Beside the door was a linen closet and of course the toilet. I went straight toward the tub and Anita grabbed me by my shirt. "Oh no you don't. Shower, we don't have time for you to take a bath," She commanded. "What makes you think I was going to take a bath? All I wanted to do was look at the architecture of the tub, that's all," I said. She glared at me and I went to pick up my overnight bag instead, dished out all my bath essentials, and got into the shower. "I'm going back upstairs, if you need anything hollar," She said. "Ok," I replied, then she left. I adjusted the water to my accommodations and began to clean up. For some reason I didn't feel clean, so I shifted in the shower and washed my fur and wings. After that I felt clean and turned back before Anita came to check on me. No sooner had I changed back, she walks through the door. She tapped on the door and asked, "Are you done yet?" "I'm coming out now," I answered her then cut the water off. I opened the shower door and she began to say, "It's about time," then stopped in the middle of the sentence while staring at me, with her mouth hanging open and her eyes bugged out. I raised an eyebrow at her and asked, "What's wrong?" She just stared for a few minutes then started rolling in the floor with laughter. I didn't know what was so funny. Frankly I think she's lost it then I got a glance of myself in the mirror. Oh lord help me, cause the past few days have been the worst days of my life. I was standing there naked like a smurf. Everything had gone from red to blue and all I could do was moan in agony. Anita was laughing so hard that she had tears coming out of her eyes. There was a knock on the door and Micah stepped in. He took one look at me and then at Anita, shook his head and left. That made Anita laugh harder. I ignored her and got dressed. Since clear waters showed up today, must decide whether to go with blue or white. I chose white and put on a pair of shorts and a spaghetti strap shirt, even my unmentionables were white. I rummaged through my bag to find my sandals and slipped them on. By the time I was finished dressing Anita had recovered from her mirth. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and looked at me from where she sat in the floor. "Are you quite done?" I asked her, not in the best mood. "Yes," She answered with a smile. I turned toward the mirror and started to fix my hair, by parting the middle, French braiding both sides. Instead of my normal contacts, I changed to my glasses for the day. Last I added my sapphire jewelry and was ready to tackle the world. While putting my stuff back into my bag, Anita came up behind me and laid her hand on my shoulder and said, "I'm sorry I shouldn't have laughed. I hope you're not mad." "No, I'm not mad Anita. It's just I know the elements are possessing me, but what I don't understand is why I've been changing colors like this in the last twenty-four hours. Normally it's only when the elements change with the zodiac. At least that way I only stay one color once a week out of a month and the rest is my normal self," I told her. "You don't know why this is happening?" She asked. "No, I don't. I don't know if it has something to do with the lupanar last night or all the evil magic that's in the air. Regardless of what it is, something's not right in the elemental world," I said. She stood there, studying me before she asked, "Are you all right? You don't look so good, besides being blue that is." "I'm a little concerned about what's happening to me and I'm hungry as hell. That's all that's bugging me at the moment," I replied. She just smiled and said, "Well we better be going or we'll be late. I'll get Nat to get you a poptart." I nodded and she walked out the bathroom door then up the stairs, with me following her. She didn't make any more jokes about my blueish tint. I guess she was leaving that to Jamil and Shang-Da. That wasn't a good thing, because I bet you they were gonna compare me to Brainy Smurf from The Smurfs. |
