By late afternoon the next day, I was feeling better but my head still
hurt like hell. It had been only sixteen hours since Shang-Da threw me
through the cabin wall and still had eight more hours to go before I
could actually get some sleep. Richard was out with Verne, trying to
solve the issue of my surprised birthday party. Trixie accidentally
let it slipped, when she came over to watch me for a few hours. A
number of Verne's pack had volunteered to look after me for a few
hours at a time, making sure I didn't fall asleep. Jamil went with
Richard, cause I had gotten even with Shang-Da by forcing him into
wolf form and leaving him that way. He even got the privilege of
knowing what it felt to be tied up. I had his butt tied to a tree
outside in the cold, where he would stay until he came to his senses.
Josh was my last babysitter, so after he left I went to see if I could
find Maggie. I needed something for this damn headache, regardless of
what the doctor says.
I found Maggie in her lab, with Luna and Lilli. I had caught them in
the middle of discussing plans for the Christmas Party next week. Luna
was in charged of the decorations and Lilli was in charged of the
food. Apparently they didn't notice a face in the mirror until I
asked, "Does anyone have anything for a headache. Stupid doctor didn't
give me any when he was over last night"
I think everyone except Luna jumped, when I mysteriously started
talking through the portal. Lilli turned toward me and replied,
"Mirror, mirror on the wall."
I just shook my head as Maggie began to rummage around the lab looking
for medication to help get rid of this headache. "I have lots of
things in the lab, but how you going to get them and why do did you
need to see a doctor for" she asked, while still searching for a
particular one.
Looking around making sure Richard hadn't came back yet, I jumped onto
the dresser, and then slide through the mirror hitting the floor of
Maggie's lab with both feet. "Like this. Hi everybody and to answer
your question. Shang-Da threw me into a wall last night, when he got
his panties in a bunch." I said.
Maggie ran over to give me a big hug and answered, "Hi ya Alex and
what?s the matter with him now?"
I hug Maggie back and replied, "Oh you know how territorial males can
be," and left it at that. She raised and eyebrow at me, but didn't
question. "Ok if you say so,? she stated.
Lilli gives me a strange look and asked, "Should you be doing that
with a concussion."
In the time being Luna had came over and pulled both Maggie and I into
another hug and said, "Hey Dear."
I smile at Luna and made a smart comment, "See I told you, I could
find you anywhere you go. I'm like a stalker with a mirror."
She rolled her eyes and said, "So you've said." Then she walked back
over to a chair in the corner.
I smiled even bigger and remembered Lilli's question, so I glanced
over at Lilli and stated, "I can do it, just as long as Richard's not
around. My concussion doesn?t bother me as much as Richard's heart
attacks do."
Maggie starting giggling and said, "That's cool Alex."
Luna from her perch started to chime in, "You know Alex, I thought it
was funny the way he was talking to you last night. It almost sound
like someone trying to stop a jumper from jumping off a bridge or
something."
I hopped onto the counter watching as Maggie, was going through the
cabinets looking for my meds. "I know it was kind of funny about
Richard. Especially when the doctor was examining me. He was getting
in the way and asking if I?m going to be ok and all that sort of stuff."
I shook my head, noticed that Lilli's head was hanging and she seemed
to be pouting, while looking at me with puppy dog eyes. "What?s the
matter Lilli?" I asked.
She glances up at me and said, "I feel deprived. Don't I get a hug?"
Before I could reply or do anything Luna hops off her chair and gives
Lilli a hug. "I know I'm not your lupa, but hopefully that counts for
something."
Lilli smile and said, "Like I told Maggie. I need all the hugs I can get."
"Oh I'm sorry Lilli," I said, then ran and jumped into her arms,
"How?s this for a hug and I've missed you so much," I asked.
Lilli beams and responds, "I've missed you to," then gets pouty look,
"None of the other females wolves wants to play with me."
Luna called them bitches and I tried not to giggle. "Oh don't mind
them, they are just stuck up. Especially since I got Richard and none
of them did. Which reminds me I've got to call Sylvia." I jumped out
of Lilli's arms and went over to the phone, calling back over my
shoulder, "Hey Maggie mind if I borrow your phone."
Maggie looked up from where she was working and I noticed she was
talking on a mobile phone. She pulled it from her ear and said, "Ok
Alex. I'm on my mobile phone right now anyway," as she points to the
ear piece, "That?s why I'm a little distracted. I'll find you some
pain killers, while I'm taking this call." Then went back to rummaging
through the cabinets.
Luna crossed her arms, gave me her mad look and said, "You better
because whenever I try to talk to her. She tells me to mind my own
business. One of these days she's going to piss me off and I'm going
to bring Gabe out to play with her."
I heard Lilli make a comment about Gabe, and then Luna with a smile on
her face began yakking about him, "Elizabeth showed me a picture of
him and he was hot, hot, hot."
I rolled my eyes and said, while dialing Sylvia's number, "I wouldn't
get to attached to her Luna, that's how she starts trouble. Getting
too close to someone just so she can get dirt on them, to expose all
over the place."
I saw Luna send a glare my way before she commented on my opinion,
"I'm not getting to attached to her. I think she needs a friend to
help her get back on track, not that Gab is gone.
As I was listening to the phone ring, waiting for someone to pick up.
I watched as Maggie started putting medicine bottles onto the cabinet
before she asked, "Does Elizabeth get along with anyone in the pard."
Luna snorted at that and said, "Yeah Caleb, but then he's an FB deal
anyway."
I smiled at that and realized someone on the other end of the phone
line had picked up and said hello. It was a female voice and I knew by
the tone it was Sylvia. "Hey Sylvia it's me Alex.
"Hey Alex how?s Tennessee," she asked.
"It's fine," I replied.
"So how do you like Richard's family," she asked in a tone that
sounded like she was trying not to laugh.
"Oh they are great," I answered.
"And how did things go with Verne and Roxanne," she asked.
"They went fine, except all the females start crying when I walk by
them for some reason," I stated, trying not to lose my cool.
Sylvia busted out laughing then, causing more pain to shoot threw my
head.
"Sylvia please no laughing I've got a concussion and a headache the
size of Texas," I said.
She stopped and with a worried tone to her voice asked, "How did you
get a concussion?"
I filled her in on the details about Shang-Da going off the deep end
about Luna, then throwing me into a wall, when I tried to talk some
sense into him. I left out the part about Conor. Her only words were,
"He did what? You've got to be joking me. I knew he was uptight, but
didn't know it was that bad. I hope Richard talked some sense into him."
"Well yes he did, but I think it went into one ear and out the other.
Plus I got my revenge and have him tied to a tree in wolf form," I stated.
There was quietness on her end of the line for a few seconds before
she returned with, "Well he's got to learn somehow." Then she got down
to business, "So what?s up?"
I sighed then answered her question, "I called about the Paris issue.
Have you found out more about it and don't tell me you don't know
anything, cause I pulled it out of Shang-Da this morning."
Sylvia sounded like she could use some sleep, "Exactly what did he
tell you Alex?"
"Oh that Paris has formed a little group, that?s responsible for
rumors that are flying around about Luna, me, and a few other of my
friends. Causing relationship problems. Sticking there nose where it
doesn?t belong and finally they are trying to over rule you, so they
have a chance of taking out Richard and I when we get back. Don't you
think that?s enough for treason," I asked.
"Yes it's enough for treason Alex, but we can't get the proof we need.
Richard's not going to go with what Shang-Da said,? she said. Shit!
?You know he's going to want proof before he convicts them," she said
sounding extremely tired.
I was holding the phone tighter then I should have been. "Have you
tried getting proof Sylvia? I know you are strong enough to hold them
off, but what happens if the other's starts rallying around her, then
what?" I asked.
?I'm aware of that Alex and trust me I?ve tried getting proof, but
she's one step ahead of me. I don't know what else to do," she said.
I stood there biting my lip thinking of a way to get the proof without
suspicion, then it hit me. A slow smile formed on my lips and I told
Sylvia what to do, "Here's what you do Sylvia. Send someone they would
least expect to work undercover. Have them get the proof, by digging
around where Paris and her flunkies hang out. Then once they have it,
she will be nailed to a cross for sure."
Sylvia started laughing and said, "I like the way you think. I'll just
do that and get back with you when I have the info."
"Cool deal. Call me when you get it. You have the number for our cabin
right?" I asked.
"Sure do and I'll get on it right away," she said, and then hung up
the phone.
I just glanced at the phone and said, "Good-bye to you to."
I had hung up the phone when I heard a bottle slam onto a table, then
Maggie started yelling, "What? Here?s your medicine Alex. What's up
with that? Is that why Elizabeth always has this funny smile on her
face when I see her."
I walked over grabbed the bottle and took a couple out. "What's going
on now?" I asked.
Luna glanced between Maggie and I before replying, "Elizabeth tried
to seduce Noah into her bed."
I nearly choked on the meds, while Lilli looked on, trying not to get
in the middle of it, but at the same time she was fearful for Maggie.
Luna went over to give Maggie hug and said, "Now calm down Maggie.
Elizabeth tried to hard to get Noah's attention and he threw her out
of his bed. There are a lot of things the pard won't tell me and
sometimes they forget that this wasn't my home world.
Maggie was nearly in tears and her voice was coming in quivers, "Are
you sure? Because I know it would be easier for Noah to date someone
not human and that he didn't have to worry about so much. If someone
in the pard wants him, wouldn't he rather be with her." Then the tears
started falling
Luna gave her another hug, while Lilli and me watched on. "Now hush
Maggie Mae. Noah loves you for who you are, if he didn't he wouldn't
be with you. And besides there's no one in the pard that's better
suited to our toy solider than our dear sweet, cute Maggie Mae," she
kisses Maggie?s' forehead before continuing, "Believe me I wouldn't
lie to one of my sisters."
That's when I chimed in and said, "Same here."
Maggie wiped her nose, smiled, and said, "Thanks you guys." She then
looks at me and asked, "So what?s up? How did the phone call to Sylvia
go?"
I ran my hands through my hair, sighed, then plopped down into a chair
that had my back turned to the mirror before replying, "She knows
about Paris and is trying to deal with it, without bringing Richard
into this. Paris tried to have her killed, so she had to bring in two
enforcers she could trust to watch her back. Seems not only is Paris
spreading rumors about people, but she's also trying to knock off
Sylvia to get the throne and leadership of the pack. Sylvia' trying to
get proof to bring it before Richard, but every time she tried it
seemed Paris was one step ahead. So we are going with plan b, by
putting an undercover in there midst. Hoping to get the much needed
proof that way. Not only that but the women at the club the other
night are her flunkies, along with three guys who think Richard is a
poor leader and needs to be taken out. All the plotting of taking over
the pack started when Richard and I left town, so Sylvia had started
her investigation then, trying to keep us out of it. She said we
needed the time alone, to get our heads on straight and have fun for a
change."
If looks could kill, then I would have been dead by now. The glares I
got from my three friends were not pretty ones and I can't blame them.
I was just as pissed as they were. Sounds of a throat clearing came my
way through the portal window and I turned around to find Richard
standing there. I smiled at him sweetly, but he wasn't buying it. He
was standing there with his arms crossed and a raised eyebrow. "Uh oh
I think I'm busted. Well I had better get back over there, before
Richard has a coronary," I said, getting up to go back through the
mirror to Tennessee.
Luna comes over and gives me a big hug, then says, "Don't be to hard
on my puppy and tell Dick I said how's it hanging."
I smiled at Luna and replied, "Ok I won't and I could tell you how
he's hanging, but you probably don?t' want to know." With that she
gave me a face and said, "EEEwww I didn't need to know that."
I had walked back over to the mirror and stuck a hand threw. Richard
grabs it and helps pull me through. When I had gotten back to the
other side I heard Maggie called out, "Okay and don't forget your
medicine."
I cursed under my breath, then said out loud, "Just throw them threw
the mirror and I'll catch them."
Maggie was about to throw them to me, when Richard pulls me into his
arms to give me a big kiss. The medication comes flying threw and hits
the carper, causing Richard to break the kiss and look up. "What was
that?" he asked.
"Um some meds for my head. Maggie gave them to me," I answered, then
looked up at him. "I thought you were over talking to Verne?"
Richard pulled me into another hug, and then starts nuzzling my neck,
before answering my question, "I was. We?re finished now and besides
I wanted to check up on you, to see how you were doing." Then glanced
down at me with a stern look, "I thought I told you not to do that, in
case family shows up unexpectantly?"
"I know, but I really needed something for my headache," I moaned,
while listening to the convo that was going on on the other side of
the mirror.
Lilli was looking at Maggie strangely when she started to wave at
Richard, while wiping the tears from her eyes. "Why are you waving at
Richard like that for?" she asked Maggie.
"Um, cuz he was looking at us through the mirror. I was crying after
all and being silly worrying about whether Elizabeth or some one was
gonna steal Noah from me," Maggie answered her.
Lilli goes over, hugs Maggie, replying, "It will be ok Maggie, things
are all right. Noah loves you and no one else."
Richard must of realized I wasn't paying him any attention, so he
decides to grab my butt with both hands, to pull me close to him right
before he kissed me. He caught me off guard and plunged his tongue
into my mouth. I leaned into him and returned the kiss. I don't know
how long we were kissing before I head Lilli say, "Uh-Oh. I think
Alexandra is in trouble."
I heard a gasp before a shocked tone came through from Maggie,
"Richard, you are my adopted brother in law. I am not supposed to see
stuff like that."
Richard pulls away from me and goes over to pick up the medication
bottle, then turns back toward me. He had a smile on his face, then he
begins to wiggle his eyebrows. "I know another way to get rid of your
headache, but you'll have to cover the mirror if you don't want and
audience," he said.
I looked at him in shock and replied, "Richard, we already have
company." Then Luna gave us here smart remark of, "EWWWWW Richard you
I don't want to see."
Richard starts laughing and said, "What? It was only a suggestion, but
if you don't want to. I'll go get you some water for your meds." He
walked to the bathroom, with my eyes attached to his butt. I glanced
at him, then the meds. This was just a tough choice. No it isn't and
threw down the meds and ran after Richard. "Hey wait, I changed my
mind," I yelled, shutting the door behind us. As soon as I had gotten
into the bathroom, I was shoved up against the door. Richard pulled
off my shirt, taking advantage of the opportunity to get laid.
Half an hour later we both exited the bathroom with me straightening
my pj bottoms and buttoning the top. My hair was a mess and I was
walking just a little bit funny. Richard follows me without his shirt
and his jeans unbutton. He was smiling from ear to ear, he went to go
plop down on the bed.
I heard Luna yell threw the portal, "Can we all say EWWWWWWW," and I
looked at her and replied, "What?"
Maggie was standing there in shock before replying, "Did you forget
about you innocent sister here. The wolfman needs to protect my
innocent eyes and ears."
I looked at them both in confusion, "Huh, I'm confused.
Maggie pointed at the mirror and said; "We can see you through the
mirror. You didn't close it before you two went into the bathroom.
My eyes bugged out, while my face turned red. "Sorry. I thought I did
and besides it's not like we did it on the bed in front of you guys.
Besides I forget about things like that when, well you know."
Luna shook her head and replied, "Yeah well you forgot about how
sensitive our hearing is Alex and I do know what you mean."
I threw my hands up in the air and stated, "Oh all right, next time
I'll close the mirror."
"Thank you and thankfully I was spared some of that with my human
hearing, " replied Maggie.
"Your Welcome," I answered.
I wound up closing the mirror for a while and going back over to
attack Richard. We played around for nearly an hour, when he fell
asleep underneath me. I moved off the bed slowly and got dressed,
moving back towards the mirror to call Maggie again. I needed to know
if Sylvia had called and if she's gotten any proof yet on Paris's
treachery. I brought the lab into view to hear an argument start
between Conor and Luna. Luna then stomped out of the lab, while Maggie
was looking Conor up and down. He looked a little ill. I glanced over
my shoulder to make sure Richard, was still asleep. I took my chance
and crossed sides, nearly scaring Maggie to death. Conor didn't
flinch, cause he was so wasted.
"Hey Maggie, Hey Conor," I said, then glanced at the door. "What's the
matter with Luna?"
"Hey Alexandra," she said with a shake of her head and slightly pointed
at Conor.
I caught the recognition and let it dropped right before Conor
slightly turned toward me and replied, "Hey Alex, how's the lupa
business going."
"Oh it's going pretty well, except for a few minor details. Maggie has
Sylvia called here by any chance?" I asked.
Maggie shakes her head, "No she hasn't called here, but I need you to
do me a favor."
"Sure what you need," I asked.
She pulls me to the side and whispers, "I need you to get Shang-Da and
bring him here. I really think him and Luna need to talk out there
differences, plus she's upset and wants to see him."
I glanced toward the door and nodded, "All right Maggie, I'll go get
him." Going back toward the mirror, I slowly entered the other side
quietly so as to not wake Richard. I walked out the door and to the
tree, where Shang-Da was tied up to. I dropped the spell and he
shifted back, making sure he had clothes on all the way through the
shift. He glanced at me with a curious stare and I walked over to him.
"Look Shang-Da I'm still mad at you for what you did, but I think Luna
wants to talk to you right now. So I changed you back so you can go
talk to her and see if you two can work things out. So follow me and
be quite. Richards asleep. He nodded his head and followed me threw
the cabin. I let him go first through the mirror once inside, then
pointed toward the security room, telling him that's where she was.
Maggie was still looking over Conor, so I took that time to use the
phone. Conor was fighting with everyone tonight. He first got into it
with Luna, then me over Paris and now he's going after Jean-Claude.
Not a good idea if you ask me, but to each their own. While I was on
the phone trying to reach Sylvia, Maggie was trying to calm Conor
down. She even followed him out into the hallway, not knowing what he
might do in his intoxicated state. Finally someone picked up and I got
Sylvia again, "Hey Sylvia, it's me. Did you get anything yet,"
"Hey Alex. Yes I did. I got pictures, video that I'm transferring onto
cd's for your laptop, and tape recordings of the confessions. Do you
want me to sent them to you?" she asked.
"No. I think we will be coming home early, so just keep them safe," I
said.
"So you?re going to tell Richard about all this," she questioned.
"Yes I am and I'll make sure he knows I have the proof," I stated.
"Good, talk to you when you get back," she said.
"Same here," I responded and we both hung up the phone's at the same time.
I turned around to find Maggie watching me. "Did she get it?" she asked.
"Yes, she did," I replied.
Just then the lab door came busting open from an angry wereleopard.
Luna was on the warpath. "I want Paris, that bitch is mine," she
stated coldly.
"So I take it you know the details," I asked.
"You better believe it," she replied.
I was going to reply to that remark when angry power began to roll
over my skin. I turned to see Richard standing there and he was
pissed. I glanced between my three friends and left the lab to go talk
to Richard. Once on the other side, I closed off the window and sat
down on the bed. He stood for a while, and then sat down beside me.
"Ok Alex, What's going on?" he asked calmly.
I took a deep breath, letted it out slowly, and then looked him in the
eyes. I told him everything, from Paris's betrayal, to her trying to
kill Sylvia, to her spreading rumors and causing troubles among the
other groups in town. I told him that I've talked with Sylvia and that
she has the proof to convict Paris and her gang of rogues. He listened
and didn't say a word until I was finished.
He was pissed you could tell by the way he ran a hand through his hair
and the look in his eyes. "Get packed. We are going back tonight. I'll
go tell Jamil and start making phone calls. I'm going to need Verne to
take us to the airport," He said then got up and left.
I spent the next hour packing everything of ours, so by the time the
vans pulled up we were ready to go. I opened the portal and left word
with Maggie, Luna, and Noah that we were coming back home. To make
sure no one got wind of it. They said no one will hear it from them
and I said my good-byes closing off the mirror permantly. We stopped
by his moms on the way to the airport to exchange our gifts. Richard
and I spend a good while out there and it was past midnight before we
left. Once at the private yard, we said our farewells to Verne and
Roxanne and headed back home.
