Rating: Violence and Language I found the exit from never never to Paris after three hours of riding across rough terrain. It was snowing heavily here, but it was bright and shiny on the other side. I guided the stallion threw the portal, coming out in a wooded area. It looked like it had snowed here over night for the snow was still fresh and white. It didn't have that dirty look to it, that snow gets after setting on the ground for to long. My horse's ears purked up and it began to stomp it's feet in aggitation. It smelt something out there. A predator perhaps or Bree herself trying to jump me from behind. Suddenly a sharp pain went through my shoulder as the tip of an arrow came threw the upper part of my arm. I turned around to see a hooded figure standing where the portal used to be. They was decked out in all brown, with a bow in their left hand. The figure pulled off it's hood as I jumped from the horse sending it running into the woods. When the figure dropped their hood, I came face to face with the women I seek. She sneered at me, while glancing me up and down. She wore the same expression as she had in my dream. I just stared at her with a cold hatred running through my veins. Then I smiled and said, "Why Bree, I didn't expect to see you here. I thought you would be running for your life by now." She glared at me and answered, "You wish bitch. I don't run from no one. I've known of your coming for six days now and so I've waited for you to show up. I hope you know I will send you body back to Queen Mab in pieces." I raised and eyebrow and replied, "Six days. You've been waiting for me for six days. It only seemed three hours ago, that I left the castly." She snorted and said mockingly, "Down here times goes faster then up there. It is only three hours up there to six days in this miserable world." I reached around and pulled out the arrow from my right arm, then healed it right in front of her. "So you've been expecting me, so you thought to get me at a disadvantage. I bet you didn't expect me to heal myself like I just did," I said with a little smirk and grin. "You won't be grining when I get down with your half-breed carcus, Princess," she said with a sneer. I glared at her with hatred, "Don't call me that, I'm not nor will ever be that high in rank." She laughed at me and remarked, "Everyone on the Winter Court knows who will take her place, unless of course you got the balls to take me out, which you don't. I tilted my head to one side and questioned, "If your so intend to take me out, why do you stand there and do nothing but run your mouth. It seems to me your bark is bigger than your bite." "You mouthy bitch. I will show you whose bark is bigger than their bite," she answered right before she lunged at me. I was on the ground, with her straddling me faster than a loca motive. "Not so tough now changling are you," she inquired as she pulls out a silver dagger as long as my arm. She came down with it and I yelled a vanishing spell. The dagger disappeared from her hand, to give me a leverage to bunch her in the face while she was to stunned to act. The force of the punch threw her off me and into a tree. I was on my feet before she was and kicked her into her stomach as she tried to get up. She went down with an umph and as I approached her she tossed an ice ball at me, which I saw coming at blew it up with an explosian spell. Bree is quicker than I thought and was on me again. She punched me and I was slammed into a tree, getting my barrings together to get out of the way before she came at me with a back kick. We matched each other with every blow, trying to find the other's weaker spot. Finally when plain old street fighting wasn't working for her, she brought out the artillary and tried to cook my goose with a few more flying arrows. I threw my hand up to stop them in time and they feel to the forest floor. I looked over at her and just said, "Why don't you just give up. You've meet your match and you know it." She hisses at me through clenched teeth, "I will never give myself over to a half breed. The only way that will happen is if I'm dead." "Then so be it," I returned and threw my hand her way, catching her with a burst of my power sending her backwards against a tree. She stood up with blood coming out of her mouth. "Nice try witch, but you've got to do better then that," she snickered as she released her own magic, sending me into the air with shards of electricity running through my body. "Now hows that my little wolfie," she asked in a satonic laugh. As the pain shot through me, I glanced her way and answered her question, "Oh you're real good, but I've been shocked before. It dosn't do anything to me but piss me the fuck of." Then my right arm shot out on it's own accord and shards of ice glass went flying her way. She didn't see it coming in time to duck. The ice hit hey. wrapping itself around Bree's body like a cocoon. All that could be heard in the silent morning was her screams coming from the incase tomb of crystal glass. I went down to my knees afterwards, rocking back and forth as something strange began to happen to me. A bright blue/red light shot from me, taking me off the ground into the air. The light shone bright for a few moments, then disappeard. I hit the ground hard, the world went fuzzy then I blacked out. I woke up some time later, wrapped in warn furs by a crackling fire. Trying to set up caused my head to spin and just laid back down. I felt a familiar presence in the room and looked toward my left. Mab was sitting there with a huge smile on her face. She almost looked like a cat who finally got a hold of the canary. I felt funny, it almost seemed that my right side was ice cold, while my left was burning with a fire so intence that nothing could put it out. Mab left her chair and came over to my bedside. "You have done the impossible and I'm very proud of you," she said as she smooth back my hair. "Thanks, I think," I answered, while trying to sit up with her help. "But how did I get back here and what happened to Bree," I asked curiously. She began to laugh as she replied, "Your powers have grown or advanced as you might as well say. While Bree tried to electicute you, it caused you elven heritage to come out. Why you were able to throw ice at her. Which is just remarkabel and down right cunning if you ask me. Well after that the portal opened up underneath you both and brought you back here to the castle. Bree is being unthawed in the dungeons where she'll be kept of cource and you were brought here." I nodded my head in understanding and glanced at her with a tilt head. "If I have the power of ice, then why does my left side feel like it's burning up," I asked her curiously. Her face went cold and began to pace the room, while she spoke, "It seems that you have some Summer Court in you as well. Your grandmother's father was of the Summer Court and her mother was of the Winter Court. Your great-grandfather died in the last great war and you great-grandmother gave birth to you grandmother here among the Winter Court. So you have both your great-grandparents's power. You will be known among the courts as the lady of fire and ice. This will be you title. And as promise, I believe this is yours." She then pulled out a parchment and handed it to me. I took it, unwrapping it as I went. It was both bargains showing that I've earned my freedom from Mab, but now have a place among the courts as a lady. I smiled at her, then slowly got out of bed. I surprised her by giving her a hug, then ran over to throw both parchments into the fire. As I did so the world began to spin and I felt myself falling. I fell threw a whole and fell on top of something, taking us both to the floor. There was clanking and clattering everywhere, then I heard someone jump with a start as if they had been sleeping. I looked up to find Maggie standing there with wide eyes and a shocked expression on her face. Then I looked down at the figure on the floor to find an unconsciouse wereleopard underneathe me. What really made things look bad was that I had no clothes and I looked like a double flavored popsicle. I glanced back up at Maggie with a smile and said, "Hey Maggie, so did you miss me. I've been gone almost seven days, according to Mab." She stared at me like I was a ghost so I continued to talk, "Sorry about Noah, maybe I should get off of him." I got up off of Noah, just as three more were-leopards came running into the lab. Caleb, Greg, and Zane all halted in their steps, when they looked from Noah to me. I smiled and waved at them, then went over to pull on one of Maggie's extra lab coats. I turned around to be grabbed and pulled into a big leopard huge. Maggie was still stunned and looked like she could use a doctor and a stiff drink. The three were-leopards had me in a huge so tight I couldn't breath. I started to laugh, then cry as they licked and greated me. Damn it was good to be back home. Seven days was just to long to be away from my friends and the ones I consider family. |
