The Pack meeting had ended at midnight and we didn't get home from Lua's old place until two this morning. I would only get three hours sleep, because had to be up by five and out the door by six-thirty. Being a principle isn't easy sometimes it sucks. Being head mistress over a mage's school is worse, than your normal junior high to high school. The council had cleared me of all charges for breaking all but one of their rules, so my slate was clean. For now that is, because you never know what will eventually come up that will put you on their bad list. So here I am still stuck as the head mistress over my father's school. My father's family founded it and my stepmother was the last head mistress before me. My father had wished for me to take over, when he left for London. My stepmother had no choice but to go with him, since she was his human servant. Uncle Orthos was just a temp, until the council got the courage to drop the assignment into my lap.

In my opinion they should have come just right out and told me, because Uncle Orthos left me a huge mess, when he left for his seat on the council. Hate to see what that office looked like. So here I am, with only three hours sleep and its not even lunchtime yet, trying to catch up on files and keeping the office straight. You just don't know how backed up I'm really am, until you see the workload piled up on my desk. If I don't find a deputy head person soon, I'm going to flip out. Lori had been so busy with her own schooling that she hadn't been able to keep up with the workload. So I've decided to find a temp of my own until she's done.

I asked the council for all the available mages two weeks ago. They still havent sent the report with the list of names. If I don't get some help soon, I'm going to go loco. Just then there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said.

Helga came in with two students by the ears. The same two who can't seem to stay out of trouble. Max and Nicolai Scarducci, the mischief twins. Their father was an Italian and their mother was Irish-American. They were a rich family, mostly due to the fact Falcor sat on the governor's school board. He was a step under Franklin. Dreama their mother died three years ago in a small accident off the coast of Venice. Still don't know what really happened, but it's none of my business. As for the boys behavior, that's a different story.

Both of them were in their fifth year here and had been trouble ever since they've arrived at McGregars, according to their records anyway. I believe it had something to do with their mother's death and not getting enough attention from their father. They were handsome boys, both standing 5'3, with dark curly brown hair; dark tanned skin, and deep brown eyes. They had a muscular build and very handsome, with high cheekbones and oval features, plus they are only fifteen. All the girls had a crush on them and they knew it. So they pranced around all day in front of the girls. They get it from their father, whose and older version of them.

Helga had put them both in front of my desk and stood back. Waiting for me to say something as I glanced between the two. Their faces fell, while they kept looking up at me with pouty faces and puppy dog eyes. If Id sleep, this would be cute, but since I hadn't this wasn't amusing. I leaned forward in my chair and steepled my fingers under my chin, analyzing the situation. The longer I stall the more; they would know how much trouble they are in. They know me well enough to know when to push my buttons and when not to.

I motioned with my right hand and said, "Boys please be seated. You might be here for awhile."

They glanced at each other and gulped, then sat down in the chairs in front of my desk. I glanced over to where Helga stood and asked, "What did these two do now, Helga."

She came forward standing tall, which is very tall in her case. She's almost 6'5 and three times bigger than me. She's from Finland, with long blond hair and green eyes. I envied her because she had such a nice tan and I looked like a ghost from never never. She had an oval face and her smile lit up an entire room. Helga was my groundskeeper and she looked after the animals in the nursery, while making sure the one's in the forest are in good health. The school and forest, along with the lake and Quidditch field sit behind high stonewalls. It went all the way around the property line, with steal gates for an entrance. Spells, guardians, and two dragons sitting on top of either side of the gate guard the school. It sits on top of a mountain cliff, hidden away from prying eyes. Below us in the valley was Wigglestown and McGregar's train station.

Someone cleared their throat and I glanced up, not knowing my mind went somewhere else, to see Helga looking at me with a worried expression on her face. I smiled and said, "I'm sorry, where were we?"

"You were asking me about the boys," she said pointing at the two children sitting across from me.

I looked over to see Max and Nicolai sitting there patiently, while waiting for their punishment. Shaking my head, trying to clear the sleepiness, I glanced up at Helga. "Yes, right, go on Helga. I'm listening," I stated with a yawn.

"Professor Montgomery, are you all right. You seem a bit tired," Helga asked.

I waved the notion away and replied, "Of course I'm fine. Now tell me what has Max and Nicolai got into now?"

"I caught them, sneaking in Professor's Knockaine's office with these," she said, pulling out gags from her coat and laid them on my desk. There were Ton Tongue Toffees, which makes a person's tongue swell up three times the original size. Canary Creams, which turn people into huge canaries if they eat them. Fake Wands, which turn into slimy things, or rodents, if someone tries to use them. Dung bombs, that make one horrendous stink, when you let them off. Nose-biting teacups, Filibusters Fabulous Waterproof No-Heat fireworks, screaming yo-yos, fanged frisbees, and ever bashing boomerangs.

I leaned back into my chair, while glaring at the twins. "Just exactly what were you two going to do with all this stuff in Professor's Knockaine's office," I questioned, letting the anger show in my voice.

Professor Knockaine's was the potions master and a pain in my backside. He's always following me around, when he's not teaching class. It's almost like he's waiting for me to mess up, so he can run and tell the governor's. Besides him the only other cranky professor I have is Baltese, who teaches Defense Against The Dark Arts. I glared between the two waiting for them to tell me what they were up.

"Well I'm waiting you two. Do I have to call your father?" I asked.

Max was the first to talk, "We weren't going to do anything bad Professor Montgomery. Honest."

My eyes bugged out and I cried, "Oh really, then what were you two going to do with all this stuff. Entertain him. I'm got him riding my butt now, because you two don't know how to behave. He follows me around waiting for me to mess up and you two are running around the school setting gag traps in teacher's offices. That's enough to expel you and me both from this school."

I stood up, while picking up the gags and handed them back to Helga. "From this moment on you both are in detention for a week. That week will be served with me, so I can keep an eye one you two. You will be escorted to and from your classes. Then you will be escorted to your dormitories for the evening after dinner and detention. And I will be watching the both of you closely from now on. Plus Im going to have to contact your father on this matter," I stated coldly.

Max jumped up and begged, "Please Professor Montgomery, don't call our father. He'll be furious with us."

I glared at him and he sat back down knowing it was a lose-lose situation. I nodded to Helga and she left with the gags, leaving me with the twins. I sat back down in my chair, glancing between the two of them. Finally I got up and motioned them to follow me.

"What classes do you have this afternoon?" I asked going out of my office and onto the stairs. The stairs were magical so they went down on their own, taking us with them to the bottom floor.

"We have Defense Against The Dark Arts, Potions, and Transfiguration," they said in unison.

I rolled my eyes, mumbling to myself, 'Of all the lousy luck. It had to be the three teachers, that have it out for me.' I stomped down the hall, letting them both know just how mad I was at them. I climbed the stairs to their dormitories, two at a time. I was speed walking so they had to run in order to keep up. Finally at the portrait that hid Phoenixs House, I stepped out of the way for them to enter, so they could retrieve their books. They came out with sad faces, while they headed off toward their next class. I was not far behind them and we made perfect timing. They weren't even late, which is a first for them. Once they were inside and seated, I turned to leave, but not before running into Professor Baltese.

Professor Baltese was my height, with dark black hair and eyes. His skin was white as a ghost and his nails were a little longer than they should be. Baltese was not skinny, but not fat either, more on the medium side of things. He was wearing all black, which set off his rounded face tremendously. His smiled reminded me of a serpents smile. The one it gives you before it strikes. I wanted to run screaming from this man, but stood my ground and smiled.

"Oh hello Professor. How are you today?" I asked.

He gave me a smirk and replied, "I'm doing fine. How bout yourself."

"Oh just peachy," I stated, before walking off toward my office.

I felt him stare after me, until he couldn't see me any longer. I knew that he would do that, and then go inside when I was no longer visible. Coming toward the entrance to the stairwell of my office, I stopped when sounds of shoes came toward me. Turning to meet the sounds, my mouth dropped at the figure approaching me.

It was the twins father, Falcor Scarducci and second in command of the school. He looked exactly like his boys, but with some small differences. He was 6'3, long dark brown hair, which was pulled back from his forehead and into a ponytail. It went over his shoulders traveled down his back to rest on his butt. He had broad shoulders and was more muscular than Richard. His tan was darker and his eyes were almost chocolate. His mouth curved up into a smile, when he saw me looking. I pulled my eyes up to meet his, which were shining bright as always. He had high and round cheekbones. While the rest of his face was a slender oval, with two dimples resting on either side of his mouth. He was wearing a three-piece Armani Suit with and ankle length coat. He had a cane in his right hand and a bouquet of roses in the other.

He came to a stop in front of me and bowed. "Good afternoon, Professor Montgomery, or can I still call you by your first name, "he said, while smiling up at me.

I smiled back, wondered what he was doing here, when I haven't sent for him yet. "Good evening Governor Scarducci. And Professor Montgomery if you dont' mind."

He pulled himself back up to his height, while still smiling and said, "Of course." He then handed me the roses, which I took out of generosity.

"Thank you," I answered.

He nodded and I turned to the dragon protecting my office and replied, "Hatchlings."

The dragon moved aside to show the staircase that went up toward my sanctuary. As I got on the steps, so did Falcor, moving closer than necessary. I let it go for now, hoping it doesn't go any further than this. Once inside my chambers, I motioned for him to sit down. He sat down in one the chairs, never taking his eyes off of me. I went over to counter to place the flowers in some water, and then returned to my desk. I sat down and smiled at him, which earned me a smile in return.

"I'm so glad you've came by Governor. I was about to send you an owl regarding the twins," I stated.

The smile vanished when a look of anger crossed his face. He raised and eyebrow and asked, "What have those two done now?"

"Oh trying to trap a teacher's office with gags," I stated.

"They did what," he said through clenched teeth.

I bit my lip and replied, "You heard me."

He got up, took his coat off, slinging it across the back of the chair. He began pacing back and forth around the office. He did this for about five minutes before he turned toward me and questioned, "What have you done about it?"

I shrugged answering, "I've put them in detention with me for a week. They will not be leaving classes, dormitories, or the dinning hall unsupervised. Plus I'm taking all privileges away from them, while they are in detention. This has gone on long enough."

He sat down on the edge of my desk, leaning over as he did so. His smile was back, but that smile put me in defense mode. I do not like what's happening here, whatever that might be. He reached out and lightly ran a finger down my cheek, then running his thumb over my lips. What he did just scared me and I showed it, "Um Governor. What are you doing?"

"Please call me Falcor, Alexandra," he said with that husky voice that tells you he's interested.

"Um, ok, but can you please keep your hands to yourself and lets get back to your sons," I stated a little to coldly.

The smile never wavered as he moved from my desk to come kneel at my side. "Alexandra, you've already solved the problem. Now lets talk about us."

I knew it! I jumped out of my chair, far away from him. "No I haven't solved the problem and there is no us Falcor," I stated, trying to be calm.

He followed, cornering me against the bookshelf. "Is there another problem with the boys and why isn't there an us? I know you want me. I can see it in your eyes. We've worked together for awhile now and I think we should take our relationship up a notch or two," he replied, leaning in for a kiss.

Ducking underneath his arms and moving away from him fast. I turned around at the door to see him propped up against the bookshelf. I answered his questions, "The problem with the boys is you arent spending enough time with them. They feel neglected, which is the reason for their behavior this year. I know for a fact it has something to do with the death of their mother. Now what are you going to do about It? And further more there isn't going to be an us, because I'm engaged to someone else.

That got his attention and he pushed away from the books. "To who and since when?" he asked.

I rolled my eyes and replied, "To Richard Alaric Zeeman. We've been engaged, since December twentieth."

He trapped me between his rock hard chest and the door, leaning over to brush his lips across mine. "I can't believe your still dating that buffoon, let alone marrying him. Alexandra you can do better than that," he stated while trying to nibble on my lower lip. I kept moving my head around, but it just made him that much more eager. He pushed his body against mine, while putting his hands on the door, on either side of me.

I glared up at him and commanded, "What do you think your doing!"

He smiled at me, and then captured my lips with his. He was gentle at first, then more demanding, while trying to get his tongue in my mouth. He pressed harder against me. I groaned giving in to his demanding tongue, letting him inside. Before I knew what had happened my arms went around his waist of their own accord, while my body leaned into him. He explored my mouth, running his tongue along my teeth, and then moving it around mine. He tasted like an exotic red wine. He hands moved from the door to cup my face in them, while trying to get his body close to mine.

Things were about to go further, than they should have, when a knock on the door broke the spell he had over me. I pushed at him with both hands and he let go. He backed a way with a smile, knowing that he got what he came for.

I glared at him as I answered the knock, "Who is it?"

"Professor Montgomery, it's me Helga. You are needed at the nursery," came the voice.

I sighed in relief at the distraction from Falcor. "Oh, be there in a few, got business to finish first with Governor Scarducci and I'll be right up," I stated, trying to keep the anger out of my voice.

"All right," she said, then was gone.

Falcor was putting his coat back on, when I turned my attention back to him. "What are you going to do about spending time with Max and Nicolai? I asked.

He smiled at me, while walking toward the door. "I will talk to them and try to fix the problem, by spending more time with them."

I stepped away from the door and nodded. "Good, maybe there behavior will approve."

He stopped and glanced at me. "Now what about us?" he questioned.

I sighed, turned away and said, "I told you there is no us and I would appreciate it if you didn't say anything to anyone about what happened here today."

I heard him move toward me, so I glanced at him. He came to stand in front of me, while tracing my jaw line with a finger. He was hurt and he let it show, "If he's what you want and makes you happy, then I won't get involved. But the first time he hurts you in anyway, I will get involved."

"Please Falcor just leave. I've got too much to deal with now," I stated.

He leaned down and whispered, "I will always will love you for who and what your are. If things don't work out, you know my door is always open."

I just nodded and smiled at him in understanding. Ever since we've met, he's wanted me to go out with him. I've told him no every time, saying he had children he should be taking care of. He would smile, said it would be a lot easier if he had a good woman in his life. I just smiled back and said, Someday you'll find her. He would reply, I already have. Then we would go our separate ways with him leaving his number for me to call him sometime. I was in my own little world, when he leaned down to kiss me goodbye. I let him do it, while kissing him back.

He pulled away, with a smile and said, "Come to dinner with me Alexandra."

I shook my head no and replied, "I can't. You know I can't."

"If your worried about Richard, then tell him it's just a business dinner to discuss the issues of the school. He'll never know the difference," he stated.

"I dont' know Falcor. I don't play around behind Richards back. I care too much for him, to ever do something like that," I answered.

He shrugged, "I respect your wishes, but if you change your mind. You have my number."

I nodded with a smile, he then left and I was left hoping he would vanish from my life. I don't need another complicated male, one's enough. I sighed as I remember the taste of him, then getting disgusted with myself, I went over to my desk, sat down, then banged my head on the top of it, yelling, "Bad werewolf, bad werewolf."

I spent the rest of the afternoon in the nursery, delivering hatchlings of owls, litter of kittens, and helping with the animals that had come down sick. By nightfall and after dinner, I escorted the twins to my office, where they started their detention in helping me with catching up on my homework. Midnight rolled around, making me realize just how time flies. I escorted the boys back to their rooms, and then headed home.

Richard was asleep when I entered the house and the bedroom. While watching him sleep, my mind started drifting off toward Falcor and our kiss. I smacked my head very hard with the palm of my head, and then ran like hell toward the kitchen. Plopping down at the kitchen table, I started banging my head against the table mumbling under my breath, while tears flowed, 'bad werewolf, bad werewolf.' I didn't care if I had a headache in the morning, because anything would be better than the trouble I've gotten myself into.

The back door came open and Jamil stepped in. I knew it was him by the way he smelled. Every pack member smells different even if they wear the same fragrance. A chair slid out from the table on the other side, while a hand started to rub the back of my neck.

"Bad day at work, Alex," he asked.

"Oh you could say that Jamil," I answered and left it at that. I began to fall asleep, when strong arms picked me up and carried me off. I opened my eyes a little to find my snuggle puppy. I snuggled against him, burrowing my nose in that spot behind my ear and whispered, "I love you."

He kissed my forehead as he stepped into the bedroom, shutting the door behind us, then whispered back, "I love you too."

Richard undressed me and put me to bed. He got in behind me, snuggling close to keep me warm. That was the last thing I remembered, when sleep took me. I don't know if I talk in my sleep, but I prayed I don't, because my dreams were too erotic for my piece of mind.
