This is how an ashford wheel should look with the double drive option set up.  This is a traveller but the setup will be basically the same for a traditional.  The drive band goes around twice, once around the flyer whorl and once around the bobbin whorl.  To adjust takeup, turn the knob that moves the whole mother of all (the base of the maidens and flyer) to either tighten or loosen the drive band.  That's it.
This is how it will look with the scotch tension set up.  Notice that both drive bands are around the flyer whorl.
Again, this is scotch tension.  Notice how there is a piece of fishing line attatched to the knob on the right, the line goes through the eye hook and over the bobbin whorl and is tied to a spring which attatches to a hook on the mother of all (sorry, it's hidden behind the other knob).  To adjust scotch tension, tighten or loosen the knob on the right.  Hope this helps!
