The Z in DragonBall Z stands for nothing. After Dragonball ended they needed to change the title a bit for the new show, so they added the Z.
The GT in DragonBall GT stands for Galactic Tour(because in DragonBall GT someone wishes Goku to be a kid again and someone eles does something like what Frieza did to Namek to Earth, so Goku, Krillan, Gohan, and Pan(Pan is Gohans dauter)(it was origanaly soposed to be Goku, Krillan, Gohan, and Goten but Goten was hiding so Pan went instead)go around the galaxy collecting the sets of DragoBalls from different planets to whis Goku an adult and to wish that Earth doesn't explode.).
