| Frequently Asked Questions - Part II | ||||||||
| Q: Isn't Wyoming pretty much out in the middle of nowhere? Wouldn't this make it difficult to get to reach job markets and big city amenities? A: Wyoming is actually quite close to various large urban areas. In fact, Delaware is the only other candidate state that is as close to large urban areas. To go to the Denver Airport from Cheyenne, or the Salt Lake City airport from Evanston, takes 90 minutes. Ft. Collins, CO is as big as any city in New Hampshire but has a much better economy and is only 30 minutes from Wyoming (Keith Carlsen recently did the drive from Ft. Collins to Cheyenne). At the same time, Newcastle, Aladdin, and Beulah are around an hour from South Dakota's second largest city (Rapid City), and its tourism, and gambling centers. Twelve Wyoming cities are less than two hours from Billings, Montana's largest city, and a couple of other cities are only 90 minutes away. Two of Idaho's five largest cities are less than two hours from Wyoming cities. The largest city in western Nebraska is only 30 minutes from Torrington, Wyoming. However, Wyoming also offers places where people can live their lives undisturbed by the high tempo and fast pace of big city life. Wyoming offers a large number of secluded mountainous and non-mountainous cities. Wyoming offers secluded cities near famous fishing streams and hot springs. Chances are that a land as varied as Wyoming offers what you are looking for. |
