| Dog Sledding- Wyoming has the largest dog sledding race in the lower 48 states. The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is an 8 day race through 10 towns in western Wyoming (Evanston, Jackson Hole, Lander, Kemmerer, Alpine, etc). Each town stages an event or two to celebrate the dog sled race. Occasionally, Wyoming features other dog sled races. Hunting- Wyoming has a huge hunting industry because it is one of the best places to hunt in all of North America. Wyoming has the largest pronghorn antelope population in North America, and the world�s largest elk herd. Mule deer, white-tailed deer, moose, mountain goat, and bighorn sheep are found in select parts of the state. In Wyoming, incredibly, both the black bear and the gray wolf are considered game animals. Cottontails, jackrabbits, coyotes, and cougars are also found throughout Wyoming. The sage grouse, pheasants, chukar, Hungarian partridge and wild turkeys abound. Several types of duck and geese are found throughout Wyoming, including in the world renowned waterfowl hunting area of Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. Fishing � Fish, fish, everywhere fish! Wyoming has tons of big, big fish. Literally, thousands of reservoirs, lakes, river, streams, and fishing holes are found in Wyoming. Fishing is a year-round sport in Wyoming; yes, even ice fishing. Many native and non-native fish species populate Wyoming�s waters.
