| What do Freewheelers and Manchester City have in common? Answer: Both clubs have only managed to pick up 1 point on their travels so far this season. (by the way ..our point was at Farm while City's was at Goodison park) This week the damage was done away against Railway Union. In the opening exchanges, both teams looked evenly matched and it took a 25 yard free kick from Union's Jack Healy to break the deadlock after 20 minutes. Freewhweelers' keeper Darryl Murray did get something on the ball, but not enough to prevent it creeping in low by his right hand post..The home side doubled their advantage 10 minutes later when Johnathan Rooney found himself with space in the box after a poorly defended throw. His turn and shot beat Murray and effectively killed off the fixture as Freewheeler heads began to drop. Things improved in the second half for the visitors and Railway Union found themselves struggling to clear their lines after a barrage of corners and free kicks. The breakthrough never came, however, and it was the home side who increased their advantage midway through the second half. A Freewheelers corner was cleared and a quick counter attack gave Andy Boland the chance to secure all 3 points for the Sandymount outfit. Boland was too quick for Wheeler's defender Wayne Melia and he duly slotted home making it 3-0 and no way back for the visitors.
