Name: X-Master 1.3
Author: LinkeSOFT GmbH eMail
Description: Long awaited freeware alternative to HackMaster which was no nag shareware. You'll need this to be able to run the rest of the hacks here. It's much better than the other freeware alternative; EVPlugBase. It comes in two flavors, both freeware, regular & light. The light version is just about half the size of the regular one and does what I need so it's the one that I use.
Name: PowerButton Hack 1.2
Author: Christian Hltje eMail
Description: Awesome hack that lets you have a specific application launch when you power on your Palm. I use WhatzUp personally and a lot of people use BigClock or some other clock app. I registered a commercial product that performed the same function before this one became available but I think this one is better than the commercial app.
Name: MiddleCaps Hack 2.6
Author: Rui Oliveira eMail
Description: I love this hack! I always thought the stroke shift thing on the Palm was counterproductive and this solved that shortcoming. You can configure it to automatically capitalize a Grafitti character that either begins within a certain region or crosses a vertical line (I like it this way).
Name: McPhling 2.12 Download
Author: Mike McCollister eMail
Description: This is a really neat hack based on Mitch Blevins' PhlegmHack. I like this name better and the app has some added utility. The two main functions of the hack are 1.) to pop up a list of recently used apps and 2.) to switch back and forth from one app to another (e.g. Memopad & PocketC). McPhling can also be set up to only show your favorite apps and hide everything else making it kind of like the Winderz start menu.
Name: AfterBurner V2.0
Author: Jean-Paul Gavini eMail
Description: Hack that let's you overclock your Palm's CPU, running it at a faster (or slower) speed than normal. It works pretty good with the only drawbacks being 1.) it sets back to default speed when you HotSync and 2.) it's "normal" is 16MHz even on devices that normally run at 20MHz. I like it because it's simple and I couldn't care less about setting speeds on a per app basis which you can do with AfterBurner II.
Name: QuietSync 1.3
Author: Tim Charron eMail
Description: This is a tiny little hack that turns off HotSync tones. Back when I had a job I used it so my coworkers wouldn't hear me syncing fifty times a day and realize that I was screwing around with my Palm so much. That's not why I don't have the job anymore though, I'm a victim of the tech market slowdown.
