| Free the Children Sage Team |
| The Sage Team is about to begin a 6 month fundraiser for the organization. Free the Children. This organization was started by Craig Kielburger, a 7th grade student in Canada who woke up one morning and read about the murder of a young Pakistani boy named Iqbal Masih Iqbal was touring the world discussing the evils of child slavery and child labor when he was murdered. Craig felt he had to get involved in improving the lives of children around the world and began what has become one of the largest organizations of children helping children through education in the world. Our Team will be working on a fundraiser called Adopt a Village Clean Water campaign. Our goal is to give our students the opportunity to become leaders and make a significant difference in the lives of their less fortunate peers and to provide families children with clean water and sanitation. The money that is raised will go to implement water and sanitation projects in communites in Kenya, Sierra Leone, China and Sri Lanka; A few of the honorary advisors of this organization are the following; Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Queen Noor of Jordan, Dr. Jane Goodall,and many many more. I am putting an appeal out to all Sage Team families. Thanks for your support..... Our Steering Committee is made of student volunteers will be meeting next week to get this campaign off the ground... |
