| These and Other Impressions It seems very important these days, to consider the impressions we give during our life to the people we interact with. We easily change our posture, attitude or conduct to impress others as we go through life. What others think and say it's very important for us because it could influence our future in many ways and in a short or long term. Some of those ways are socially and financially. And it is true, people will judge us by the way we look, talk, act or not act, the friends we have, the school we went, the company we work for, the money we make, the car we drive, the neighborhood we live at, the bar we hang out at, the sport we practice, the girl we go out with and the religion we profess, just to begin with. We build our lives around all these impressions developing the art of pleasing others. All these aspects of our life are nothing but anchors. They hold us from achieving freedom. Mostly, our freedom of thinking. Free thinkers usually fight these elements naturally and constantly with their own attitude. With out even having tights to established disciplines. The plan is to eliminate little by little the power of the anchors and create personal freedom with respect for all others being able to become what we want to be and relate to life in a positive and open way. As a free thinker, I am socially tight to the basic behavioral rules. If you look close, they are very easy to follow. Understanding the motives will liberate us from the stress of following rules and laws. We do not need to be passive to things we disagree about but by using our freedom of speech we can make our views valid and our beliefs respected. Be you and understand others for whom they are. Practice your freedom and let others practice theirs. 9/6/02 3:53 PM |
