My Heart Belongs to You

-

My heart belongs to you
I gave it up a long time ago
But never have you even tried to
Let yours go.

It is because I'm not
Pretty enough, or am I
fat or am I too
young, or could I be too shy?

I don't know why
you just can't seem to see
that the girl
who loves you the most is me.

I love you for your
sweet side, not just cause you're hot
I don't like your lies
or the fact you've smoked pot.

It's the very real
you that only few have seen
Not the cocky hurting
side that can be so mean.

Whenever I see you
I realize it's true
that no matter how
much you hurt me, I will still always love you.

If I told you that
I love you what would you say?
Would you say you love me too
or would you say I don't like you that way?

I'll only know the
truth if I talk to you
But then, what if
you pretend to love me too?

That would be worse
than not knowing, maybe,
but my heart is long
for the answer if it's to be.

If we were in some movie
I'd tell you how I felt
Then you'd give me
a kiss that'd make anyone melt.

Then they'd roll the credits
and everyone'd assume we'd be happy
But what.... what if everything
ended up being all crappy?

It makes me sad to say
it but it's true
I don't live in a fairy tale world
so I don't knofw if I'll ever have you.

The thought of anything
like that makes me wanna die
But for now all I ever do is cry.

My heart belongs to you
I gave it up a long time ago.
So maybe one of these days
Could you let yours go?
