Times Away & The Uncouth

The words of eternity wrapped inside a wristwatch.
Ive never been able to figure out why Im in doubt.
Its not easy to hide in this sea of lies & hate
I carry the pain with me, my footprints spread drought.

Like being a ship at sea gliding over a goddess
Afraid to touch her Siren-like beauty.
This place seems so unfamiliar, but I know it by heart,
Lost in the vice of my own twisted duty.

Tomorrow the sky and death will fall upon us.
We swoon for the perfection of an autumn day.
Trapped like rats in the cells we create
Unable to say what we really want to say.

Our feelings have fallen down to Hades
Along with the thought of enjoyment.
We praise the phrase that gives us time
To ignore our logic and judgment.

We are the uncouth, the scourge of the Earth;
We maim and murder and plunder and rape.
We are the only ones we feel sorry for
Wanting peace and happiness just a little too late.
