Normality

A snowflake in a rounded world,
A rebel in a place of drones,
Splinters on city streets surrounded,
Hounded by satellites and cell phones.

The stars have more planes than stars
As you stare at the fading moon.
You watch the sky turn from blue to black
And see darkness engulf the afternoon.

Toxic waste spilled in wading pools,
Poisonous fumes in daycare places.
Cancerous cells in root beer floats,
And STDs in smiling faces.

Talent wasted behind a fast food grill,
Mindless clones rule the land.
Nature lost ground to combusting unions,
Forgetting what its like to lend a helping hand.
