Blemishes

He sees himself in a cracked, filthy mirror
And seems to think his heart is bare.
Blemishes & warts cover his face,
He cowers & hides them in disgrace.

But his face is beautiful to everyone except him,
He chooses to see himself in light far to dim.
He can not see those mysterious blue eyes,
As he covers them every time he cries.

His hair is like an effortless breeze,
Yet he considers himself spoiling cheese.
Begging for God to make some attraction,
He lost his beauty in loves distraction.

Once he was happy & built with pride,
But he was forced to push it all aside.
Love came to cast down shallow life,
And thrust his confidence into a rusty knife.

So now he sits here after his indulgence,
And waits for fate to give him a pretext.
All because he opened his door & let love through,
Casting aside his beauty & all he held true.
