Sea-Sight

He walks over the tranquil sand dune.
Heart as slow as a cold morning wake.
Hearing the unfamiliarity of the waves tune
Hoping to see it before night begins to break.

A cool wind strikes his tired eyes with tears.
Then he stands in wonder at the enchanting sea.
Hes lived to long for too many years
To never have seen this water majesty.

His hands shaky; his mouth wide open,
Kneeling in the wet, saturating foam.
Bowing to the sea to show a thankful token
Amidst the cold dark blue water is home.

There is not a light in eyes sight.
There are no headlights from passing cars.
So he lies in the chilling dark night,
And looks at the beautiful design of stars.
