Picture Perfect

Gripped to the edge of my sickbed
While the stars shine bright above.
Thinking back on the life I led
Filled with passion and with love.

Id lost my ideals along the line,
And never seemed to find them.
Living the life of the ignorantly sublime,
There was so much happiness I condemned.

Imagining a life better to live,
And tossing over detail.
So much more I wished to give,
So much I think Ive failed.

Not one thing could please me more
Than to live this life again.
To kiss the one that I adore.
To let go of encompassing pain.
