I Am

I must continually try to remind myself,
That I can never be anyone else.
Ill never be that rich guy in the magazine,
I know that life will never be a fairytale dream.
But this world will continue to go around,
And I will be ready if it all goes down.

Ill never be the singer of a number one song,
And Ill never fully know whats right or wrong.
But I know who I am and what I must do
If the sun turns black or the sky remains blue.
And as my friends grow old along with my face,
My heart will never feel aged with regret or disgrace.

Ill never be truly heard by anyone for anything,
Or feel that my inner colors will explode out and sing.
Ill probably never be able to find my way,
Or feel truly content when I finish a day.
So I drink to the things that I am and will be,
And promise to never be someone other than me.
