Welcome me hearties to another swashbuckling page dedicated to that wonderful wireless that used to eminate from the North Sea.
Here is some memories from 1985 with Brian Allan on Caroline 319 closing the station down for the night.
Two files of my own rather patchy recordings of Caroline in 1978. They were not on the air regularly so getting some recordings was pretty hard. I had a cassette recorder at the time with a very small tuning knob, the tuning was very difficult one turn of the fingers and you went from one end of tha AM band to the other.
Dixie Peach became a BBC Radio 1 DJ after working for a few ILR stations in the UK. I wonder where he is now, anyone know?
This DJ (Keith King) had a short stay on the Ross Revenge but left us with this wonderful rapping version of the DJ line-up in the mid 80s.
Here is Ad Roberts introducing the listeners to Radio Monique Int. in English, then there is announcements in other European tongues.
Robin Ross on board Radio Caroline in 1984 doing the late shift, if my memory serves me well i think he started his service with Caroline on the breakfast show.
Steve Essex is what he calls himself on this piece of tape but i know i have heard his voice since. Anyone know this voice, please tell me and put me out of this misery, this recording circa 1986.
Tom Anderson worked on Caroline in the 70s and the 80s, here he is doing an advert for a shirt and also a link in 1986. He was on Caroline Overdrive on this recording.
