Wearing a Face Veil in Public is Perfectly Legal Wearing a face veil in public is perfectly legal and not in dispute. The circuit court acknowledged this fact. More than twenty years ago the Florida Supreme Court struck down as unconstituional a Florida law that prohibited a person wearing a mask, hood or device whereby their identity is concealed. See Robinson v. State, 393 So.2d 1076 (Fla. 198). This Florida law was a result of a Federal Supreme Court ruling. A driver is already constiutionally permitted to wear a veil while doing so. The only time a facial covering is illegal is when it is done in the process of committing a crime, like when burning a cross on someone else's property, or holding up a bank with a gun. |
