Tomboy

by Karen A. Freeman

During the day, the tomboy, she runs and she plays.
Climbing trees, playing hard, running free.
All that was part of me.
Singing in the rain, flying through the weeds.
Simple things bring joy to one who is young.
A part of nature, she has no fears.
The animals come to her, and speak with her.
A wild thing, she becomes like them,
She becomes like them, a wild thing.
The animals come to her and speak with her.
A part of nature she has no fears.
Simple things bring joy to one who is young.
Singing in the rain. flying through the weeds.
All of that was part of me.
Climbing trees playing hard, running free,
During the day, the tomboy, she runs and she plays.
