As you approach the East Window, you see a table with a thin Tome that reeks of dark power. On the cover is the title, in runes of amethyst crystals: "Fanfiction Ineffable". You sense that these are clearly the twisted works of a warped mind.
On a shelf is another book, superficially similar to the first. However, the gold lettering on this one's cover reads: "Fanfiction Inspiratum". Ah, it becomes clear, now. Obviously, the superior works contained in this volume caused the Lab's owner to believe he could attempt to aspire to similar heights, resulting in the unfortunate works bound in the darker volume. You notice a new-looking volume, slender as yet. The intriguing title "Missy Foxglove" seems to beckon to you. You notice that the author is not the owner of the Lab, but one David Homerick. Given your host's obvious narcissism, you realize that this work must be well-done, indeed, to have earned space in the alcove.
A bound set of periodicals entitled "Absolute Anime" catches your eye. Surely such a intriguing title merits a bit of your precious time? On the back you see a reference to the work's creators, the Japanese Animation Society of the University of Chicago. You vow to pay them a short visit when you have a chance. A large stack of unanswered mail sits on a small endtable, making you feel guilty. The return address on almost all of it is for some kind of fanfiction mailing list. Curious, you glance out the window. Immediately, you understand why Freemage chose this spot for his lab. There, on the beach, is a veritable brigade of white swimsuits. Satisfied, you return to the Lab. |
