Kshamenk is a male killer whale that remains in captivity in Mundo Marino (Argentina) since 1992. He has been in solitary since 2000, when the other killer whale, Belén, died. Killer whales are highly sociable animals and isolation magnifies the negative effects of captivity, like unnatural enviroment, unnatural feeding, training, lack of space, nostalgy, stress and a life without stimulation.

To free a killer whale is not easy job, captivity is very harmful for their phisical and emotional system, but with the help of specialists, it is possible to make Kshamenk forget all those innecesary circus acts, and focus in learning behaviors that are vital for his survival such as fishing, avoiding predators, socializing and understanding the natural rithyms of the sea. But most important of all is to offer Kshamenk a hope of a better life.

Please help us ask Mundo Marino and the argentine authorities to allow the rehab and release of Kshamenk!
