    Looking at this question in one way, the immediate answer is no. The problem comes in when European-Americans would be persecuted for developing a holiday that celebrates their unity. Each race should have the ability to be proud of their contributions to society and celebrate them if so desired. The fact that Kwanzaa exists is not appalling or wrong. We are two separate Races and should be able to express our belief system in the way that suits us best.

     When reviewing the history and meaning of Kwanzaa, however according to the standards that European-Americans are held accountable to the answer is YES.

     First things first. The holiday was developed in 1966 by Dr. Maulanga Kerenga, who was also the founder of the Kawaida Movement wich stresses the 7 principles of blackness. It is supposed to be a time for "African-Americans to strive to understand their heritage." It last for 7 days and begins on December 26th.

     These are the seven principles that represent each of the seven days (in no particular order):

     Cooperative Economics- This principle basically states that blacks should build and maintain their wn businesses together. Can you imagine the suprised look on everyone's face if I as a European-American were to announce that I would only be shopping at White owned businesses? I do not think that would settle very well with our liberals!

     Unity- Maintain the unity of the black race in communities, nations and the race as a whole. Now, the Free Knights of the Ku Klux Klan try to do similar things for the white race, yet we are constantly deemed "haters, bigots and racist"!

     Self-Determination- Define ourselves, our names, create and speak for ourselves. I suppose this is trying to say that after years of unjust persecution and oppression the black community should begin showing the world what they are made of. We see it everyday in the form of WELFARE!

     Collective Work- Make the problems of each other (others in the black race) our problems. Build and maintain our own community. Personally, I would love for this to happen so that I could raise my own White child in an acceptable society under White Christian law!

     Purpose- This one is meant to restore the black race to their origional greatness. I don't think I need to comment on this one!

     Creativity- Blacks must strive to leave their communities more beautiful then when they recieved it. There isn't much you can do to improve the ghetto but I understand where they are coming from. I would also like to add that some of thier "creativity" has helped make the world a better place. Where would we be without the lemon squeezer or the portable pencil sharpener for example? Not to mention the ability to soften and smooth the African-Americans hair? (no, I am not kidding, these are true black inventions.)

     Faith- Believe in the righteousness and victory of the black peoples struggle. This race is only held back by their own lack of ingenuity. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT the white race that has held them down. (Did you know that there were many black slave owners for example?)

     Other interesting things that you might notice about Kwanzaa is the phrase "Harambee!" This means Let's pull together. I find it ironic that White Pride World Wide is noted on the ADL's website as a HATE phrase and all it means is White Pride World Wide.

     In closing, I again, do not care whether or not the black race chooses to have their own holiday. I want to be able to establish the same network of pride for the white race if I so choose without being labeled derogatory terms. I urge each of you to research and understand different cultures, but especially your own. The magnificant white race has contributed more to the world than any other and it deserves to be celebrated in the highest manner.
