| Why we light the Cross Mortal man gazes in awe, at the sight of a cross set upon a hill, encircled by those who placed it there. Adorned in white robes and hoods, they perform age old rituals, then in somber silence approach the cross, and set ablaze the symbol of Christianity. To most men this act of igniting a symbol of the Christian faith may seem barbaric or even anti-Christian, but nothing could be farther from the truth. The truth is: Klansmen hold the Cross in utmost reverence. We Honor the Holy Cross, as a symbol of Christian Faith and recognize the Sacrifice of Holy Blood wich was shed, that all men might receive forgivness of sin and have life everlasting. This old Cross was bathed in the Blood of our Lord Jesus and became transformed into the symbol of Faith, Hope, and Love. Today it is used to rally the forces of Christianity against the ever increasing hoards that support the Anti Christ and enemies of America. We light the Cross with fire to signify to the world that Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Where the Holy Light shall shine, there weill be dispelled Evil, Darkness, Gloom and Despair. The light of Truth dispels ignorance and superstitution as fire purifies gold and silver, but destroys wood and stubble, So by the Fire of the Cross of Calvary we cleanse an purify our virtues by burning out our vices with the Fire of His Word. Who can look upon this sublime symbol, or sit in its sacred Holy light without being inspired with a Holy desire and determination to be a better man? All this we do to glorify the light of |
