Singing Hinnies
 

what you need

4 c. flour
1/4 c. margarine
2 tsp sugar
1 1/4 c. currants
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tbls milk
1 tsp salt
1/4 c. lard

what you do

Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt together. Rub in 
the lard and margarine. 
Add the currants and enough milk to make a dough stiff enough to roll out. 
Roll to 1cm thick. Cut the dough into rounds.
Fry in butter until brown. Turn and cook on the other side. 
Serve split with butter and jam.
