"So which offer should I do?"

This is all personal preference, the majority of these offers require credit cards (gasp!), but I, for one, haven't been charged a penny. You just have to be careful. If you actually see an offer that interests you, GO FOR IT! Here's a list of offers I've completed and recommend:

  • Ancestry.com - This one costs $199, but you get 2 weeks to cancel if you don't want to pay. Took about 1 day to get credit.
  • Infone - Very easy. If you want to avoid being charged, just don't use their service. You don't even have to cancel. You also get credit pretty quickly.
  • RealRhapsody - Takes about a week to get credit, but you have 2 weeks to cancel in case you're "not interested" ;)
  • Blockbuster online - This is a pretty good service, but the time to get credit varies. I got mine instantly, but that was for OfferCentric. I think with Gratis it takes longer.
  • Callwave - The current no credit card offer. Complete an offer here before it goes!

"I heard I can do an offer without using a credit card. How?"

Gratis has a new offer, called Callwave, which doesn't require a credit card to complete! Unfortunately, the offers displayed on Gratis websites are randomized, so you'll have to check the freeiPods.com (or whatever Gratis website you want to complete an offer at) once every few hours (or days...) and wait until you see the Callwave offer.

"I still don't believe this is real. So prove it!"

Well, I can't make you believe it's real, but here are some links from various websites many people trust:

Wired - News Article
Engadget- News Article
Forever Geek - Story, with pictures of the iPod that he received
Forever Geek - Pictures from another person who got their iPod
G4TechTV - Video of a man in disbelief and an interview with the CEO of Gratis.

"I need a step-by-step guide for completing this, where can I find some?"

Google is your friend, but here are a few that I've found from there:

TJ's Home - Decent guide, specifically for a photo iPod, but can also be used for others.
FreeiPodGuide.com - What do you expect? It's called FreeiPodGuide.com
Yet Another Guide to FreeiPods - Lots of information here, even a forum!
