Colonialism is something which all people are supposed to be united against,, and these "United States" are supposed to represent the ideals of freedom and democracy that are meant to fight colonialism, however if we look at our history for the past century, it seems that America is just fine with our status as a colony, or they don't care, or they don't know.

And here on Guam, whether you are Chamorro or not, ending the unfair and exploitative relationship we have with the United States should be something we should all support. Whatever your politics, the hope of this site is to help us better critically understand our relationship with the United States, so that we can better plan for our future. Within are essays, poems or stories which detail parts of our history, as Chamorros and as people of Guam. The colonial experience on Guam is an integral part of Chamorro identity and history, however if you are not Chamorro, and Guam is your home then it is part of your history as well. Our being a colony is something that is part of our everyday life, and cannot be escaped, except with expatriation to the states. It is our hope that this site will inform and incite some to think, as well as to act.
